Alpina XD3 BiTurbo: a tuned up BMW X3 xDrive35d

alpina-xd3-014

Alpina has a knack of filling in the gaps that BMW M isn’t present in. They did it with the Alpina B7 BiTurbo, and now they’ve done it with the BMW X3. If you’ve been looking to buy a BMW X3 M and there’s none to be found at the showrooms so far, perhaps you can consider Alpina’s first SUV – the Alpina XD3 BiTurbo.

The D in the XD3 model code tells us that this Alpina SUV is powered by a diesel engine. In this case, the 3.0 litre twin turbo diesel that’s found in the BWM X3 xDrive35d. Alpina has tuned up the motor to produce 350 horsepower and 700Nm, up from the standard xDrive35d’s 313 horsepower and 630Nm tune.

This allows the XD3 BiTurbo to hit 100km/h in 4.9 seconds, which is just 0.2 seconds slower than the BMW X5 M. Being a diesel, fuel consumption is low at 6.3 litres per 100km.

Will definitely go for this model rather than X5 M is possible. That kind of performance links with that kind of fuel economy, AWESOME!
