Top lubricants brand Shell has announced the launch of the Shell Lubricants mobile application for iOS and Android. The app aims to become an essential tool for Shell customers and marks a further step into mobile for the energy company.
The free app integrates the Shell LubeMatch lubricant selector tool and allows users to find the right Shell lubes for vehicles and industrial equipment. The app provides lubricant recommendations and allows users to share these easily via email. It also features a flashlight, especially useful for looking under the bonnet.
Users can save their choices to ‘Favourites’ and access the latest news and promotions, including information and videos on the Shell Helix Driven to Extremes adventure series currently airing on Discovery Channel. The app has cloud enabled tech that will allow it to be continually refreshed with new content.
“Mobile has become a hugely important platform globally and is a great way to add value to existing and potential customers. Shell aims to offer something more useful to customers than just another driving game; we wanted to differentiate Shell Lubricants and offer functionality that delivers real long-term value, and something that people will come back to time and time again,” said Oliver van Bilsen, global head of digital for Shell Lubricants.
