Mitsubishi Concept G4 previews Mirage sedan

Mitsubishi Concept G4-06

Here’s the Mitsubishi Concept G4, a 2013 Bangkok Motor Show debutant previewing a new Thai eco car that will also be sold globally, according to MMC. Based on the Mirage hatchback, think of this as Mitsubishi’s version of the Honda Brio Amaze sedan, a booted spinoff from the Brio eco car.

Design highlights include a short nose, which MMC says delivers outstading forward vision and maneuverability. Mitsu also draws us to the car’s “graceful and flowing side proportions” that balances “interior space among the most generous in its class with very sleek aerodynamics.”

There’s also a dynamic character line that kicks up towards the rear, which MMC says will leave a “sharp impression as it drives off into the distance.” No dimensions were given.

The Mirage‘s main selling point is fuel efficiency, and the Concept G4 plans to acheive the same from the same ingredients – RISE body that’s the lightest in class, a lightweight and compact engine and a CVT gearbox. These will be in addition to “uncompromising weight reduction throughout.”

What do you think? Does the Mitsubishi Concept G4 look like the just-superseded Toyota Vios, especially from the rear?

To grab market share in Malaysia, please make it come with 6 airbags or 7, plus ESP and price it below RM80k.
Looks surprisingly good, promising, for an entry sedan.

Why even price it at RM80k? In the US, they will price this US$15,000. So, they shoudl price this in Malaysia at RM50k. Ooops, we need to protect Proton!

because, Kia is lousy car. don’t compare it to the higher grade Mitusbishi Legend brand!

All these Japanese compact models look alike. We really have to look at their badge to tell the difference. Is this the new Vios hybrid? Er… Nope, it’s a new Mitsubishi model. Time to hire new designers guys!

Proton should use mirage platform to churn saga replacement. However, all this had turn to dust since drb-hicom takeover. Sign!!!

vios2013 sales will triumph (if it is well priced here in My).

1.it’s shocking to have an extended Mirage having a Vios2012 butt (OMG, that horizontal chrome thing also?!)
      2. not to mention the similarities with vios2012 shown at a-pillar & the door panels.
      3. it also has Almera’s sharp corner at 3/4 glass.

      how about turbo-3cyl?

  • maybe this kind of rear design shape of b-segment cars reduced the drag of coefficient (Cd). both toyota yaris & yaris sedan achieved 0.29 to 0.285 of Cd. check this out:

    Very DISAPPOINTING results.
    – undifferentiated
    – could’ve just edited Peugeot’s 301/ Citröen’s C-Elysse to deliver a smaller version of those models
