SPYSHOTS: Citroen DS4 DSport 1.6 THP 200 manual

Citroen-DS4-200hp-6-speed-Manual-0006

Ah, another vehicle spied at JPJ Putrajaya, and this one is of another Citroen DS4, not the six-speed auto THP 163 form that was launched last month, but a spicier variant. Regular contributor Anol Alias spotted this DS4 DSport 1.6 THP 200 tucked away in the usual parking lot, which means that that stick shifter fans will soon have another manual option to pick from.

The 1,431 kg DS4 DSport 1.6 THP 200 wears a 1.6 litre turbo mill, with the suffix indicating that there’s 200 PS at 5,800 rpm (or 197 hp, if you will) present, along with 275 Nm of torque at 1,700 rpm – the lump is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Now, all that’s missing is knowing when it’ll be officially introduced and how much it’ll cost.

I can see a sticker indicating it came from Australia which means it qualifies under our import duty cuts?

Good to see manual. Nowadays manual has lost steam because women cannot drive manual. Because of women, we are now stuck with auto.

The main reason for majority people choose auto because of traffic jam. The hardcore manual lovers are like the minority to be disposed.

Only car manufacturers set strict gearbox equipement then local car dealers have no choice but sell the manual or totally neglect the model (if no negotiation from manufacturers).

There are plenty of women who can drive manual and enjoy it. Even my mother prefers manual over auto. It takes practice and patience, but anyone can get sufficiently proficient with it.

      • after few years i came to a point of acknowledgement that hoping/requesting for manual box in normal car (normal as in non-performance variant such as golf tsi,308t,c4,c5,ds4 165,fiesta 1.6 etc) is fighting a losing battle.

Some will give manual box as an option, but its either on basic specs which will kill ur appetite to buy or on performance specs which u dont need and unjustify the additional price tag.some dont even bother.

Its time to suck it up and move on.why bother with gearchanges.use that other hand to hold smartphone is much2 better thing to do.

Out of curiousity right, since the DS4 6-speed manual was previously sold by Brooklands, why would the car need to go through JPJ again?

  • Along with the CRZ and RCZ (funny that they use the same but rearrange alphabets), one of the only few cars to have a better performance variant in manual form. Bring tears to me eyes.

      • Actually there are many more cars, RX-8, Mazdaspeed 3. but I purposely just used CRZ and RCZ as an example, their name are so similar.

Still ride on torsion beam. RM180 max for the sake of 200THP.

Nothings wrong but just have limitation on the handling and comfort. Most up market car did not use torsion beam anymore.

Citroen’s rear torsion suspension system won too many WRC rallies, superb handling what can you say my man?

    • Torsion beam if tuned properly is much better than other complex suspension system. The Citroen ZX’.s were on torsion beam but can out handle more expensive makes

You need to see it in real life to appreciate it. Interior & exterior is beautiful! its a shame there are not many citroens on the road.

It is because of the after sales service and ‘RV’ of the vehicle that cause buyers away from Citroën.

This 200htp manual version suppose to come with 19inches rim.
From picture, it look no different with the earlier 18inches rim.

    RM 175,000??
