2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition

F-150 SVT Raptor SE-02
Ford has revealed the 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition, which adds new touches to the Raptor’s existing Luxury Package, including a Ruby Red Metallic exterior colour and box-side graphics. The Raptor Special Edition is also available in Tuxedo Black Metallic.

Interior upgrades include Brick Red seat bolsters with black inserts and cloth honeycomb highlights, console top finish panel, and centre stack and door panel appliqué accents. In the US, the 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition goes on sale in the fall of 2013.

“Raptor owners are looking for a high-performing, uncompromising off-road pickup truck with the features and luxuries found in today’s premium trucks. Since its launch in 2009, we’ve continually moved Raptor forward in capability and design, and the 2014 Special Edition is the best Raptor yet,” said Doug Scott, Ford truck group marketing manager.

The 6.2 litre V8 monster truck that you can buy of the shelf has found an enviable niche in full-size pickups. SVT Raptor sales are up 14% in 2013, with five out of the past six months seeing record sales. More than 13,000 Raptors were sold in 2012.

I’m surprised we haven’t seen any Ford Rangers running around with a DIY Raptor facelift yet…

    Wow! Mean looking monster!
Wonder if Nissan still came up with a crazy idea to drop in their VR38DETT into Navara?

No need to think. This was meant to be driven offroad. On roads it is said to be rather rubbish, but drive it really fast offroad, that’s what it was built for. I guess the only way to go faster offroad is either a Bowler or a custom built racing car.

It’s likely to be a rather safe car compare to Ninja, bigger and heavier I guess.
I think it has some market if priced below RM250K for American specs.

  • With it’s monstrous V8 6.2 litre engine coupled with our very expensive fuel and road taxes, you sure it will be well excepted especially in West Malaysia (it being a pickup truck)??? I think it will be a weak selling model due to its monstrous engine.

Halo. F-150 has a 150 cubic inch engine displacement. That translates to 2458 cc. How did you do your maths?

Halo noob. F-150 is just the series, 150 cubic inch LOL, you have the right skill but wrong application. No 2.5L engine were ever ever placed in the Raptor, 5.4L edition was only available in the 2010 model, all others are 6.2L. Research before you try.

Very expensive fuel? Malaysia has some of the cheapest petrol in the world. In Europe you normally pay RM 6-7 per liter, and even America is more expensive.

But yes, road tax would be an issue, and I doubt Malaysia has many rednecks who want to race in the desert and jump around in their cars.

Still… what a car. I’d love to have one (without having to pay for road tax of course…).

Ugly. My toyota hilux will survive better and more reliable. This ford will sure breakdown once it goes inside jungle. Again, NO RESALE VALUE!!!!

When Hilux crash with 5-Series, who do you think have the higher chance of surviving? Most Toyota owners answer Hilux.

Yeah right… the Raptor is famous for being able to do huge jumps, and to drive through rough terrain at high speeds.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SPjC-Eubo0

This thing is a monster, built for offroad racing. I believe it had something like 12 inches suspension travel… which I guess is a lot more than a Hilux.

Hilux is a double edged sword for me.

Great off road vehicle that will just take you where you want with no worries.

The primary use is off course show the korean car owners that want to trade in their rotten cabbages that they are hailat oledi, without having to tell these poor souls myself. Just point and “click”

i am no hilux supporter but off road in malaysia is totally different from off road in america… you cant even go pass 40km/h in malaysia … you need to be more nible… can’t see anyone buying it except for ppl that are too rich that would never go of road in malaysia

You’re quite right, but there’s nothing really wrong with being “too rich” and never going off-road.

Don’t know about you guys ….. but I get a near-orgasmic sensation whenever I see this beauty of a truck.

C’mon Sime Darby, bring this here please. Bet you can sell 50 units a year at least.

Really suitable for malaysian roads with all the potholes…uneven paving…sudden flashfloods…but the engine kills it here with our roadtax being based on engine cc…

Seriously, this pickup would have trouble parking or even entering some of the complex building with the size.

Yeap, its more than 5m long. It’s around the length of a Long wheel base Audi A8

The Ford F150 Raptor and the Ford Ranger are DIFFERENT trucks altogether and couldnt be more DIFFERENT in size. So they are on 2 different platforms altogether. length is different, width is different. Wheelbase also different. You absolutely cannot compare this to a Ranger; thats like a common man Vs the Hulk.
