SPYSHOTS: New BMW M5 facelift shows its new eyes

bmw-m5-face-1

We’ve shown you spyshots of the facelifted F10 BMW 5 Series in both standard and M-Sport forms. Even the F07 GT hatchback didn’t escape our lenses. Now comes the turn of the ultimate 5 Series, the BMW M5 facelift to be scooped by our European spyshot supplier.

A large portion of the front fascia is covered, but only the lights and grille are new. The headlamps now feature BMW’s latest flat-bottomed Corona Rings and they also appear to be full-LED units, which are expected to be an optional extra on the updated F10 range. The rear lights have updated graphics too.

The new kidney grille is interesting. It gets new M-specific ‘double-line’ vertical elements bearing the M5 badge, both of which debuted on the latest M6. The rest of the car, both front and back, look identical to the current model, which isn’t uncharacteristic of M-car facelifts.

No pictures of the interior just yet, but expect it to sport the sleeker steering wheel with thinner spokes first seen on the M6. Mechanically, well, with 560 hp from its 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 it doesn’t need any more power now does it?

The black rims and grille look really awesome on a black m5! havent seen a m5 with this configuration before. Maybe its suppose to be a special (black) edition. Either way, I love it!

The only thing I hate is the steering wheel! its to thin and retro looking, doesnt really fit the car. What happened to the fat, chunky e60 msport style steering wheel!?

    • Duh… what? u expect everyone to afford M5 easily? then it doesnt have the exclusivity anymore. C’mon, M5. not a normal 5-series. if u cant afford nvm, like me, buy M-sport. then modified exhaust.

Good thing they didn’t change a thing, because the F10 has always looked very classy compared to the competition.

The new M steering wheel, despite having a weird look, is actually (to me) one of the best steering wheels to behold. It’s fat, chunky and small, with good leather and paddle shifters. You guys should have a go in the new M6.

By the way, BMW, your full LED headlights are disappointing. They may look good, and bright, but they have a short throw and a narrow beam. Try learning from Audi or Merc.
