Daihatsu Ayla eco-car still hasn’t seen the light of day

daihatsu ayla

Some news concerning the Daihatsu Ayla and Toyota Agya eco-car twins – apparently, the compact hatchbacks, both of which premiered at the Indonesian International Motor Show last September, have yet to go on sale in the country.

The 1.0 litre Ayla was originally slated to begin selling last December following the completion of a new plant, but the automaker is reportedly still waiting for the Indonesian government to announce an output incentive programme before it begins production and sales of the hatchback. Support measures for the production of green cars was supposed to have been spelt out by the government in November.

If production had begun in December, volume output up to April would have amounted to a significant 17,000 units, more than Mazda’s total yearly sales volume, the Nikkei reports. The report gave no indication as to when the incentive programme would come about. Daihatsu, in the meantime, is recommending other models to customers who have reserved an Ayla.

Fuel for 1.50? You must be joking. Kita negara pengeluar minyak ma… Kita nak free la. Tu hak kita… lebih minyak tu Petronas boleh jual untuk cover kos pengeluaran crude oil.

Next Viva? Who cares with this tiny coffin? After GE, JDM car will be price as flx and we can buy cheap dugong. Vote for dugong!
