Ford Escort Concept – production version rendered

ford escort production render

The Ford Escort Concept, which made its debut in Shanghai, previews a sedan meant to supplant the Ford Focus in the Chinese market, aimed at consumers looking at a compact, but who value roominess, uncompromised functionality and sophisticated design above everything else.

The Blue Oval hasn’t announced when the Escort will go into series production; rendering wiz Theophilus Chin offers a take of what the production version might well look like. Looks quite elegant, actually. Wonder if there are plans to take the car beyond the Chinese market?

The grill looks like one from the Aston Martin. I’m surprised that there hasn’t been a lawsuit that has been file, yet… And the car is starting to look like a Japanese car

Yeah ford OWNED it. But they no longer own it or are involved with each other. That means Aston Martin is free to file a lawsuit because that patented grille has been copied onto the Ford’s. A little like how apple files a lawsuit on everyone for having curved edges on the phones… Bloody ridiculous right?

Yeah, bloody ridiculous, and you expect Aston Martin to do that.
What are you trying to say bro? :)

The Ford still owned AM and who care ?, its a good looking car – base on previous model, good to drive too – and for most people who can’t afford AM this design will sell.

    • They can’t because the shape is not the same as the Aston Martin grill. http://image.motortrend.com/f/2012_aston_martin_v12_vantage/41978859+ppromo_mt_large/grill_front_view.jpg

  • Why does the rendering have 4-lug Euro Fiesta wheels?
The Escort is supposed to be slightly larger than the Focus sedan. I believe its expected to ride on a LWB version of the Focus.
The Escort is meant to be a roomier lower priced alternative mid C-segment model, while the Focus will be their premium C-segment model. It won’t be a replacement.

Aston Martin maybe cant sue because prior rights confered to ford or trademark expired already?…. design belongs to ford now I guess, it’s nice and can’t wait for new mondeo to arrive here and hope price remains. one of the better cars in class but malaysians may not know it. sime darby have to improve service and parts availability to be competitive.
