We’ve seen a short preview of the McLaren P1: Designed by Air online interactive experience last month, and now the full working site has just gone live at designedbyair.com.
This is the first of a two part series showcasing the technology behind the McLaren F1 successor, focussing on its advanced racing-honed adaptive aerodynamics. The site reveals an interactive 3D model with further information on the car’s intricate aerodynamic features.
Also a highlight is how the P1’s ‘intelligent aero’ technology adapts to the environment, as it’s shown on the site changing its setup to suit four different road conditions: urban (simulated as driving around Monaco at 30-70 km/h), alpine (Stelvio pass at 70-90 km/h), highway (Route 66 at 90-120 km/h) and track (Shanghai Circuit at 120-200 km/h).
Want a closer look at the McLaren P1? We’ve got videos of it dancing on ice and driven by Sergio Perez around the Top Gear track, plus two sets of the hypercar posing for the camera in Bahrain. For technical details, read about its 916 PS hybrid power source here.
