Volkswagen Malaysia will be supplying vehicles to The Apprentice Asia, an AXN production premiering later this month. The programme will see 12 candidates from seven countries around the region vying to be hired by Air Asia boss Tan Sri Tony Fernandes at the end of the challenge. The series will be filmed in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
The automaker will provide four of its models – namely, the Beetle, Passat, Sharan and Touareg – to support and provide mobility requirements for contestants and the show’s advisors throughout the 11 episodes.
“The Apprentice Asia gives us an opportunity to feature the character of our products for a fitting partnership that encourages competition. Our cars offer fun driving and a sense of competition through the use of technologies like TSI and DSG so, The Apprentice Asia is a right fit for the brand,” said VGM’s managing director Dr Zeno Kerschbaumer.

Hopefully during the show the car does not stall due to DSG problems. Then, the car will get “Fired” and not the apprentice!
Instead of VW Malaysia doing all these stupid things for publicity, they should just sort out their DSG scandal. Already VW has announced that their DSG always kaput because it cannot handle hot weather in Asian countries and cannot handle Asian traffic jams. So, instead of rectifying the problem and taking it seriously, they want TV publicity pulak.
Show organisers, please also get ready a tow truck on standby. Please also have Tow Truck Associations phone number. Don’t worry, the tow trucks know all the VW service centres in Malaysia very well.
