A new Aston Martin is born and it’s the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S, which replaces the outgoing V12 Vantage. With the exception of the limited-run One-77 hypercar, the new V12 Vantage S is the fastest road-going Aston Martin.
There’s a new engine on board, a 573 PS AM28 6.0 litre V12 featuring the latest generation Bosch engine management. Peak torque is up from 570 Nm to 620 Nm available at 5,750 rpm. Crucially, too, low rev torque – measured at just 1,000 rpm – leaps from 440 Nm to 510 Nm. This serves to both flatten and fatten the torque curve, improving driveability.
Paired to the V12 is a seven-speed automated manual gearbox in place of the previous six-speed manual. The Sportshift III AMT is a major development of the automated manual gearbox used in the current V8 Vantage S and is 25 kg lighter than the outgoing stick shift.
The Sportshift III transaxle, from transmission experts Oerlikon Graziano, joins an array of new sport- and track-focused developments. Other race tech include CNC machined combustion chambers and hollow cam shafts.
The debut of three-stage adaptive damping – another first for the Vantage family – allows the driver to choose from ‘Normal’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Track’ modes. The system also governs the level of power steering assistance from the ZF Servotronic steering, now with a quicker 15:1 ratio.
Working alongside the extended adaptive damping system by Bilstein is a ‘Sport’ mode, controlled via a button on the centre console. Pressing this alters throttle response, gearshift speed and timing, and exhaust note. Speaking of that, a new exhaust system derived from the One-77 is lighter, smaller and more sonorous than that of the outgoing car. There are also Brembo-supplied carbon-ceramic brakes adapted from the hypercar.
The V12 Vantage S has been restyled to reflect is position as the flagship of the Vantage range. Most noticeable is the car’s grille that does away with aluminium vanes for a new carbon fibre arrangement. Created to maximise airflow to the V12, the new grille is inspired by the CC100 Speedster Concept which debuted at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring earlier this month.
Other clues that single out the car are new lightweight forged alloys, and an exterior graphics pack that includes a black painted roof and part-painted boot panel.
So how fast is fastest ever? Final acceleration figures have yet to be announced, but Aston expects the benchmark 0-100 km/h time to be below 4.0 seconds. The confirmed top speed is 330 km/h.

@GT-Rider
I bet your GTR still faster though :)
Ok you are very right
whatever they do, whatever they change, whatever they fix, at the end of day, GT-R is still faster
Ya dude, u should try persuading AM to use the Gtr engine since it s faster than the Fastest AM
If Gtr so fast and Good and perfect , all luxury Sports car companies can Tapao and balik rumah
Awesome!!!
100kmh in 4 sec? kinda slow i thk, cos Evo 7 can do it also, nissan GTR can do it in 3 sec
=.=
Haik, pakai gearbox AMT mcm Proton Savvy? So savvy ni dah kira standard aston martin versi murah lah kan? hahahaha
You sememangnya bodoh…FYI even Ferrari and Lamborghini using an automated manual transmission be4 dual-clutch transmission become popular with sports car nowadays…
Aston Martin is a Cultured Sports Car Company.
Nissan is just a car company that wanted to beat those Exotic and Famed Supercar companies with their lower cost and faster on the track time.
Ask a group of 100 rich men, they would want a A.M or Gtr .
Normal folks would prefer Gtr cos it’s so called inexpensive compare to the Price to performance ratio .
so, it is faster than AM’s flagship, Vanquish..
