The Peugeot RCZ facelift has arrived quietly at local showrooms, as revealed in a photo below. The revealing shot was originally posted on the Peugeot Club Malaysia Facebook page by user Layfon Chian, along with a short specifications list of the automatic THP 163 model with a RM243,888 pricetag. No mention of the THP 200 manual version yet, but we’d be very surprised if Nasim is dropping that model for this routine mid-life update.
The sole price so far is a significant increase from the equivalent model in the outgoing RCZ range (RM218,888), though to be fair it does offer more power and equipment. Power for the auto variant sees a bump to 163 PS, up slightly from the previous 156 PS. No change to its 0 to 100 km/h time, though, which is still set at 8.4 seconds.
There’s also mention of standard World in Peugeot Sound with a new 7-inch folding high-definition colour screen. That’s a major upgrade from the current car’s monochrome central display unit that’s identical to the one found in every 308. The new screen, controls and media player will work with the existing 240W JBL six-speaker sound system.
Elsewhere, there’s the new less-smiley corporate face, darkened head and tail lamps and new design 19-inch wheels (same as the ones pictured above, but without the black highlights). We’ll post up more details and photos as soon as we get confirmation from Nasim, so stay tuned.

I think they are pricing their cars quite competitively. Its the government that you wanna spit at with their tax structure for two door coupes.

then you clearly don’t get the idea behind this car. but by all means, go get the A200 if you need the badge and the space. different people, different needs right?
SIAU!!! RM244k?!! U think Toyota 86 and Subaru r Ah Lian ah?

not really, it is just that they have a different set of requirements and priorities in life. not everyone goes with the flow and follows the herd instinct.
Hey can I know what kind of car are you driving? Mercedes is good I know but are you driving Mercedes? My friends is so happy to see me driving Peugeot 308 T, what do you have? Usually ppl with luxurious car are low profile type, unlike someone……
Agree. Like me, I will not simply showoff my A250. If you have my Facebook, you won’t even see a single picture of my ride. Low profile…
Too expensive…
What makes it worth so much ??
need to feed a lot of mouth maa!
better go for scirocco R. more handsome, practical w extra boot space, powerful!

why? just because you can’t afford it and you’re envious of those who can?
Was really looking forward to the facelift version, but that huge price increase changed my mind completely.. still a great looking car

Quite a huge jump in price for a facelift?
There you have it !
25K increase in price for “more power and equipment”. Shitee !!
7PS increase only, equivalent to 3.5K per PS for the increase.
Sigh. Imported cars are getting more and more expensive these days.

going into megane territory…
i’d rather get a megane huh?
same stylish (or more stylish) hot-hatch-coupe style, brute power and superb handling. and also a better rear seat. megane sounds better in almost every aspect.
Toyota UMW priced the 86 insanely, and then everybody just follow, including Peugeot.
Toyota UMW omit ESP and if Camry is still successful, the next one will be S-class.
So, everybody, please do something.
If you’re looking for performance, this is not the car to buy. People should buy this car only if the look is more important.
Unfortunately, despite the claims of certain quarters, price are actually increasing so maybe people will look at other alternatives.
As for the cheaper car promises, it is all lies, damn lies…
Base on Peugeot sales man, the price is OTR 243, 888 (Auto) OTR 248, 888 (Manual).
Personally I think the price is ridiculously high for a peugeot (or any car with less than 200bhp for that matter). For the same amount of money I can get the Renault Megane RS265 Trophy. The fastest front wheel drive car to go around the Nurburgring.
Insanity price for this French Blondie Rcz.
Price to power ratio – 1 star
Looks to price ratio – 2 stars
Equipments to price – 3 stars
Services and parts price- 4 stars
Resale value – 5 stars
Nasim + govt – Max stars
nice looking car..but not so nice price… i agree with Furqan..better choose Megane.. hot baby hot!
Not sure where they got the 163 PS figure from — that’s for the diesel. The lower-spec 1.6 THP is still rated at 156 PS according to Peugeot’s websites in other countries.
If it does turn out to be the same 156 PS, then RM27k is a bit steep for what amounts to a new front bumper and colour screen. I don’t think those new parts would even cost that much on their own.
it is the m engine which is also improved over the regular ep6 in many ways.
This is not going to be a big volume seller so it was probably right of them to price it higher since I think they are targeting customers who like the looks and can afford the car without thinking too much about performance. I am not their target market for sure.
The modest upgrade in spec does not justify the hike in price. I bid Nasim/Peugeot good luck in their sales if they continue to increase their prices.
I am glad that I bought my Manual RCZ 200hp at RM222,888 – RM5,000 discount, final price RM217,888 OTR.
The facelift version is not any nicer than the old design. The old design is “not so nice” for it looks similar as Peugeot 308, hence people want a change to a more unique look. However, if both design and shown side by side, the old design looks more fierce to me.
RM243,888 for the new facelift version is way too high.
As for the new auto flip LCD, that’s something that I would love to try. Will check with Nasim if upgrade is possible or not.
i got the almost identical engine at 156hp and 240nm, max speed still at 213km/h at 121k,plus extra 2 seats behind-308T.
better choice, and 130k cheaper, enough for me to buy another car.
You should have bought 5 Kancils instead of 308T.

I also waited for the new facelift but I gave up 1 month ago after Peugeot told me about the price hike. This car is for people who have some extra cash and wants a weekend car. I gave up and booked the new 2.4 CRV instead, I love this car but the price does not reflect its pre-mature beauty and power.
I drive mine daily in and out, to work, to shopping mall…etc. Weekends is with family, so I drive bigger car.

At above 200km/hr, you will not survive even if you are INSIDE an air bag.
Bro rcz, since u own a pug rcz, cn I knw how much is the maintenance cost and service intervals? I saw a 2nd is at 170k for auto. Is the maintenance high and what about reliability and parts? Thanks.
it is just a smallish 2+2. how many more bags do you need? or rather, how many bags do you think can fit in there? or you prefer to kill the occupants by smothering them instead? get real.
anyone wants to compare this engine to CFE? Of course no because even though it’s has same displacement, the price is too expensive hence any comparison is invalid. check out UK price it’s still expensive.
This price i better get Merc A250, more powerful, more prestige

244k? are they insane? i can buy 3 vios with that price
8.4 seconds from 0-100kmh is just comparable to Golf TSI. Even GTI can reach 6.3 seconds. Haih.
0-100kmh time for the Golf GTi MK6 is 6.9s and MK7 6.4s. get your facts right
I think the sales brochure’s wrongly printed. For the given price,it should have read :
260bhp with a top speed of 260km/h.
Plus 5 years free servicing and 5 years unlimited mileage warranty and includes a petrol card worth RM10,000.00. That will justify the high price (“,)
Was about to book this facelifted rcz but change my mind due to the price. Went to some car dealer and found the nissan skyline 370gt type s coupe. Fall in love at first sight and put my booking for this. Price rm210k otr, 330hp, 0-100 in 5sec and lots of interesting equipments.
cool that’s a pretty nice car too. but as they say, ‘different strokes for different folks’. you may like the statics of the 370 but the rcz owner may prefer the warranty and other stuff. so, it is cool.
Yea its cool. Deep down I wish the rcz price wouldn’t increase so high so i don’t have to change my mind. It will be better to have the 5 years and unlimited mileage warranty. I hope the 370gt doesn’t disappoint me in terms of its quality and reliability.
I need your guys opinion. Im buying my first sports car. My options are the new rcz and a recon 2008 nissan skyline 370gt coupe type s. Im having problem choosing which one to buy. The skyline is rm210 otr, about 30k cheaper. Performance wise i think skyline beats rcz but the rcz looks more stylish. Pls share some opinions to help me to decide. Thanks guys.
