Datsun GO gets a tail – sedan version rendered

datsun go sedan render 03

Revealed earlier in the month, the five-door Datsun GO hatchback is set to go on sale in India starting from early 2014. Nissan hasn’t announced any plans to make a sedan version of the K2 as yet, but as we’ve all seen with the likes of the Honda Brio and Mitsubishi Mirage, something along those lines should be a reality in the not-too-distant future.

If it happens, a GO sedan would go head to head with the likes of the Brio Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire. With that in mind, Theophilus Chin has come up with a set of renderings showing what the GO, which sits on a Nissan March/Micra platform, could look like with a boot strapped on.

The GO will be powered by a 1.2 litre engine, and for the Indian market the mill will be paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Indonesia is of course one of the slated Datsun markets, so expect the car to pop up there. The question is, will the hatch eventually make its way here?

If Tan Chong put RM70K price tag, it is because they are being greedy, nothing to do with proton.

How much does it go for in India? Would love to see this here. Malaysia need more 30k-50k car choices for the normal people just looking for a commuter, though it sounds like I’m dreaming.

Is it just me or the car looks like it’s made out of polycarbonate? It’s going to be tough like a Nokia or something…
