Bugatti Veyron Legend Jean-Pierre Wimille unveiled

The list of special edition Veyrons is already too long to mention, so one more, or in this case six, wouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody. The French marque has announced a line of exclusive “Les Légendes de Bugatti” (Bugatti Legends) models, starting with this, the Bugatti Veyron Legend Jean-Pierre Wimille.

Commemorating the renowned names which have played a crucial role in its history and mystique, six Bugatti Legends will be unveiled in the next 12 months, and only three of each individual model will be built. The first Legend, Jean-Pierre Wimille, achieved two Le Mans 24 Hours wins with Bugatti in 1937 and 1939.

Honouring that feat, his special edition Veyron draws inspiration from the Bugatti 57G Tank that Wimille drove to victory in 1937. At the time the racing blue finish identified French racing cars and accordingly, the honorary car now shines in blue clear-coated carbonfibre and a light Wimille Bleu paintwork.

The Bugatti Veyron Legend Jean-Pierre Wimille and the rest of the six Legends are based on the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. Powering them are 8.0 litre W16 quad-turbo engines delivering 1,200 PS and 1,500 Nm of torque. Each takes just 2.6 seconds to get to 100 km/h, and in World Record Car Edition guise, reaches a top speed of 408.84 km/h.
