Citroen DS3 hot hatch coming to Malaysia this year

It looks like Naza Euro Motors are planning to expand their Citroen line-up here in Malaysia down-segment, with a Citroen sales advisor announcing today on his Facebook fan page the impending arrival of the B-segment Citroen DS3 in Malaysia. The DS3’s arrival will complete the DS range in Malaysia.

Citroen SA Fadhil Zhafri calls the DS3 a ‘hot hatch’, which implies a high powered version, with probably a lot in common with the upcoming Peugeot 208 GTi. Citroen has a THP 155 with a six-speed manual in the line-up (155 hp, 240 Nm), as well as a more powerful DS3 Racing with a THP 207 engine (202 hp, 275 Nm, six-speed manual setup similiar to the 208 GTI).

The impending arrival of the DS3 was also hinted earlier this year by Naza Automotive Manufacturing COO Roslan Abdul Ghani, and he mentioned a launch date before the end of the year. The 208 GTI will also probably be here soon, since we’ve already seen it at JPJ, a potentially CKD unit no less!

    Impressive!
Has got DS4 in my garage.
Strongly consider to this for my wife….
To me, RV is not an issues as far as u enjoy the driving pleasure.
But not many Malaysian can really understand the beauty of this fully imported France wine.
Taste it and you will never looking for CKD Wine either way.
Again, Live and Drive are about enjoyment but not looking at future RV.

Why? Because I always believe if u are to be successful,
U must think differently with majority, and
    Why bother on others?

    • I have a soft spot for the DS5(not much on the DS4, sorry) as it quintessentially French in its design as in they are just weird. toggles on the roof? All Cars should have that by law. toggles for the rear window are below the rear aircond vents. They don’t make sense, but are just weird and wonderful design. Most Pug and even to the DS4(sorry)design feels more like the designers are playing safe. They look very German.
But as for me, true driving pleasure can come when there is a stick shift, and I’am really hoping that it will be available on the DS3.

      • No idea why my avatar is not coming out. I have to follow up on what I said above, manual is the way. Now with fuel gone up, using manual will save us lots of money. I don’t know why the men have now become like fags and insist on automatic. Auto used to be a woman thing. But now, men are also so dependant on auto.

        • Yeah, just like my no-avatar doppelganger, manual is a much better for the sheer thrills, but sadly today, even when buying a car whose sole purpose in its existence is for the driving thrill, people still go for slushbox, cars like the GT86, the CRZ and even the Suzuki Swift Sport…..just doesn’t make sense! But if I can find a lady that can reliably drive manual, it will definitely peak my attention.

  • sat in one when in France months back. Handling was superb and very responsive. Not very suitable as a family car as the rear legroom is quite small when I sat at the back, it is like seating in airasia normal seat.Tech wise very nice indeed, not sure whether it will b the same when it reach here. Price there is around 17-22k euro not mistaken.

A bit late on the local auto scene. Sure is a looker compared with the boring and overcrowded Minis.

Trouble comes when the importer is only a small volume company and the prices are way over average. Bet the price will be knocking the RM200k mark whereas the Peugeot 208 GTi and Ford Fiesta ST will be around the RM150k mark (roughly). So Citroen will have to fight it out with the Golf GTi pricewise?

i doubt so…small volume company? citroen and peugeot are both under naza…previously under brooklands the ds3 was sold at 120k+. No marketing and only 2 or 3 units brought in. I think NAZA will go for 130/140k. Indicative price of 208 GTi is around 120+k as reported here and there is a link above…where have you been???

This is a great car. Looks really beautiful and feels fun [based on reviews]. However, I dont think it will sell well here in Malaysia due to poor service and costly maintenance. Unless…they price it cheaper than 208 GTI [128k], say about 120k.

naza trying to market DS line as the more upmarket brand in the PSA stable locally. Expect the DS3 to be slightly more expensive than 208 gti. You owned citroen? how u know poor service and costly maintenance?

I dont own a citroen. i said poor service and maintenance based on some of the feedbacks from my neighbours and friends, who own citroens. Maybe its because they send it to an inexperience mechanic or keep changing mechanics. my parents used to own a peugeot 405 last time [not a citroen but still french]. didnt give much problem until its 7th year. we always sent it to the same mechanic. I guess French cars need to be handled with extra care unlike jap cars, where u can service it anywhere and it will still run for years
