Nissan Evalia spotted in Malaysia – NV200 seven-seater passenger window van being evaluated?

Both semi panel and panel van versions of the Nissan NV200 are currently on sale in Malaysia, but from the looks of it, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) could be bringing in the passenger-oriented window van version of the NV200, known as the Nissan Evalia in Indonesia.

This undisguised Nissan Evalia was sighted in the Klang Valley by reader Syed Nasurudin, and it shows the van in XV trim and its signature Blue Green Metallic colour. XV is the top trim level in Indonesia (the only variant with a single airbag), powered by a 1.5 litre HR15DE engine doing 109 PS, available with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox. The NV200 range in Malaysia uses a 1.6 litre engine.

I can’t imagine a grey importer wasting an AP on a Nissan Evalia, so the only explanation must be that this is some kind of evaluation unit. We’ve seen ETCM officially register cars that it hasn’t launched before, such as in the case of the white WUV 370 plated Nissan Serena S-Hybrid spotted in June.

In Indonesia, the Evalia is positioned below the Grand Livina – the range topping Grand Livina there goes for about Rp 222.5 million (RM64,244), while the top Evalia is priced at Rp 195 million (RM56,303). The Evalia also has a lower starting price, from Rp 147m compared to Rp 179m for the Grand Livina.

Like the Grand Livina, which will be launching here in facelift form soon, the Evalia seats seven in a 2-3-2 configuration, and marketing material clearly shows the target market there are families with young children.

In Malaysia, because the price segment below the Grand Livina is pretty much conquered by local MPVs Proton Exora and Perodua Alza, it creates a question mark on how the Evalia might be positioned if it does come here.

Do not buy even if this is RM five thousand only if it is contaminated with radioactive substances.

Do something Japan Government. Ask for help to solve something that is beyond your capability.
You are polluting the air (udara) and water (ocean) with huge quantity of radioactive substances! You are going to destroy the whole world in years to come.

if the price is right, there is a huge market since the cheapest 8 seater now is innova at 100k.

avanza is known for soft suspension (bouncy ride) while other midi MPV is lacking leg space at rear (wish, stream, 5008, rondo, livina, freed)

Nice looking budget MPV to fight head on with Avanza.

With nice body kit, the car exterior is better than T. Alpha.

Price below RM 70K (auto) and will sell like a hot cake.

Its a van converted to people carriers what do you expect? Streamline design that look like real mpv? Its same like Apv and even starex is not an mpv its more to passengers/cargo van.Its an alternative beside those fugly boxy avanza and good news its using 1.6 engine.

One more its a budget minivan dun expect to have 2.0 engine or else defeat the purpose..Dun compare with Exora cause spec and purpose is different and each serve diff markets. The van already high and boxy why bother to fit bodykit that will make it look like mini bus? Just fit a 16/17 rims and several interior entertainment system with voltage stabiliser and ground wiring is adequate.

Norman, kind to elaborate which body kit make the car look like mini bus?

All the T. Astima/Aplha/Starex/Elgrand/Alza/serena without a body kit will look like a van.

Please go to indonesia to look at the Nissan Liavia before providing your stupid comment.

  • Although the exterior design is bit weird and accessories is not as nice as Exora Bold, It will put Proton a narrow fight due to this is “Nissan” and it reliability.

How TC can offer a attractive price for this..

If the price is below RM65K, then this mini MPV is a killer but if more than that is unreasonable price to buy a modify Van to MPV on that price…

Saw from Nissan Indonesia, can I ask where is the arm rest for 2nd and 3rd row??

Tire size, 165/R14 on this MPV size?? Dun u think like sotong tayar?? Atleast 185/R15 lah…
