focus-maya-karin

Been eyeing the Ford Focus? Well, some good news if you are – a “Magnificent 7” promotion has been announced for the car, where new customers who purchase the all-new Focus Titanium+ or Sport+ variant are set to get an attractive interest rate of 1.38% for financing.

The campaign, which runs until October, highlights the seven key segment-leading features of the range-topping models in the third-gen Focus lineup, these being Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Active Park Assist, Ford SYNC, active grille shutter, active city stop, torque vectoring controll and the 2.0 Ti-VCT engine.

The third-gen C346 Ford Focus sedan and hatchback was launched in Malaysia in September 2012 – click here to read our review.

Ever driven a Ford Focus? Or a Proton Suprima S? American? German to be correct, designed in Cologne but made in Thailand in this instance.

      • Bro, I might advertise for Suprima, but I know Ford is American brand la.
No idea where you get German from.

        • Yes Ford is an American company. But Focus is design and created in Cologne Germany, by Ford-Werke Gmbh, a plant owned by Ford since 1929. It is to be a global model, hence you can actually see these cars every where across the globe. They may not have the strong presence here in Malaysia as yet buy they are significantly strong in Europe and US. With certain parts OEM being made in China for cheap labor whilst under German QC, the price of spareparts for Ford is getting cheaper. I’m a Focus owner and I testify to that …

          • Dear Dr,

Thank you for agreeing that Ford is an American company and making your point about Focus being German and etc.
I do not force people to agree with me, just like with the advertisement I was hired for, but the point I am trying to make is the entire line-up from Ford means they are American no matter where they are design or produced.
As you can see, I like to change the common people’s perception.
If one day Proton found out that it is strategic to design and produce a new model in Australia, since they have ventured into that market and suddenly very popular there.
What makes the nationality of that new model?
The Focus in Germany is extremely popular for Europe.
Say Focus from Thailand is getting super popular in a few more years, any chance it becoming Thai soon?
And what makes the Focus Electric?
If one day Honda also make a strategic decision to use its plant here and create a new model, would it be Malaysian?
I am starting to crap worse than my ad soon so I’m just going to stop here.
End of the day guess where the profits from every plant will end up? I am saying that is where the mother is from.

One more thing I did not tell, bro.
I only did the radio ad. The print ad tries to inform people they can save a house downpayment by getting a Suprima instead of the Focus.
Suprima is in fact good in papers and numbers, but the real car is the Focus.
Yes, I did not save the downpayment and I’m a Focus MK3 owner myself.
            True blue Focus fan.

Now that my secret is out, guess I wont be having anymore ads opportunity anytime soon.

Btw, I am not testifying to anything. Other than being a Focus owner too, you can disregard any part of my comments as you like.
            I am Chan. :)

I wonder if ever Sime Darby listens to customers feedback on the atrocious services and lack of attention to the numerous issues raised or as a matter of fact the Ford Concessionaires people.??
I remember David Pease ( Ford) now in Ford Vietnam used to provide very good quality service for my F Ranger in Penang 10 years ago ?? What happened??

The hatch version is really nice. But the sedan version is well, could’ve been better. Guess they made the hatch first, then created the sedan based on the hatch. Never a good idea when designing sedans. Competition must be tough to offer such low interest rate. Seeing more Kia Cerrato on the road than the Focus.

Ford needs to launch a Focus Ecoboost model or it will continue be a poor seller. With even the Fiesta getting Ecoboost later this year, the Focus seems like the odd one in the line-up. Ford must be putting a lot of pressure on SD to meet the numbers I guess.

To make things worse, SD should have done this promo by Q3 this year instead of that stupid buy one win one competition.

Care to explain why it should sell better with an ecoboost engine? The current Focus is way ahead of it’s competition in aspect of active and passive safety features and even 170 HP in a 2.0 NA engine is not matched by any of the current C-segment cars. I used to have one and my only gripe was the transmission which I admit became much better after a software update called 12B37 (Google it) The fact that this car is not selling in numbers like T&H or any Japanese brand for that matter is the availability of spare parts, (I needed to wait 2 weeks for a new DRL unit even I’m located in Thailand where the car is produced), resale value and relatively weak after sales service. The 2.0 GDI is a blast to drive and easily goy 15 km/l out of it.. The 150 HP or 180 HP ecoboost will put the Focus even more ahead of it’s competition but unfortunately it will not sell like hotcakes due to aforementioned reasons unless Ford heavily invests in it’s dealer network and after sales service but that takes years.. my 2 c

  • Well, thanks to SDAC the objective to putting Maya Karin as the model has certainly grab plenty of attention. For a moment, it looks like SDAC is trying a little too hard. Focuses are dammn good cars but for the foolhardy Malaysian buyers, probably they need a “slightly” different approach. All in all, I bet we’ll be seeing more and more of these on Malaysian roads, once they come to appreciate the philosophy behind it. Fords had been owned by my family members for 3 generations since Ford Cortina 1.6 GT in 1969, Ford Cortina 2.0 GXL in 1973 and Ford Capri 1.6 also in 1973…
