Mercedes-Benz B-Class facelift begins testing

Our European spy photographers have snapped the facelifted second gen Mercedes-Benz B-Class on test. The current B-Class has been around since 2011 and was launched in Malaysia in mid 2012.

We think the parts that are disguised on the front mean that whatever’s underneath it is going to be changed, so we might be looking at a new front bumper as well as a new headlamp design. This unit seems to carry low spec halogen headlamps though, so we can’t make any comparisons there.

There’s minimal disguise on the rear, which reveals a new rear bumper design which integrates the exhaust tailpipes in a design similiar to the new generation of Mercedes-Benz cars such as the new ML, the new S and the E facelift. Other than that, no other notable changes – the tail lamps look the same.

The B-Class is only available in Malaysia as a B200, which is powered by a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine producing 156 horsepower and 250Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.

Proton Suprima S is still the best, this B-Class is too small, slow, weak and looks cheap.

    • Can someone tell these delusional proton salesmen to stop promoting their so called “superior” products in a non-proton article? It is irritating to read all these unnecessary, self promoting and nonsensical ranting about the so called “greatness” of proton cars.

      Keep to the topic please
