2014 Honda Civic Coupe updated; Si gets more power

Honda has revealed the updated American-market 2014 Honda Civic Coupe at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The two-door Civic’s timely facelift comes a full year after its sedan siblings were given a quick refresher at the end of 2012. This serves as a preview of sorts for the full unveiling (interior and under-the-hood changes) set for the upcoming LA Auto Show later this month.

The major visual overhaul is clear to see, with a thoroughly revised front and rear ends to mark the 2014 model year offerings from the ones before. The grille, headlamps and bumper have all been redesigned to match Honda’s more recent models, complete with a re-profiled bonnet and curvier front fenders.

A reshaped rear bumper with reflector cut-outs and new rear light graphics complete the exterior makeover, which can then be further customised with a more varied selection of wheel designs. Previous-gen Civic 2.0 owners may recognise the diamond-cut 17-inchers fitted to the red car below.

Also announced is the updated 2014 Honda Civic Si range. Shown here in Coupe form, it gets special blacked-out front bumper garnish, body decals, a large rear wing and a bespoke rear diffuser with an exposed tailpipe. The exhaust system is new too, boosting the 2.4 litre engine’s outputs to 205 hp and 237 Nm (up 4 hp and 7 Nm).

I can’t help but agree with your statement, the S2000 was nonetheless, the best car Honda has ever produced, with that high revving engine. It’s still very popular in Singapore

Nice power upgrade!! Judging by the figures, this is not the new DI based Earth Dreams engine. Yet it can still get 205hp. Imagine if it had DI, we’re looking at at least 5% power/torque increase (min power 215hp & torque at 249Nm).

    Urrmm, no interior picture??

Honda Malaysia obviously ditched this SI Coupe model from coming to Malaysia because it only came with a stick shift and majority of people hated manual transmissions. Honda Malaysia does’t care about what the customers wants.
