Covers will come off the Jaguar F-Type Coupe at the LA Auto Show on November 19, before being displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show a day later. The British automaker says that the fixed-head F-Type will be “the most dynamically capable, performance-focused, production Jaguar ever.”
The new coupe, seen here in a solitary preview image, will join the existing F-Type Convertible range, most likely with the same engine options: base V6 (340 PS), V6 S (380 PS) and V8 S (495 PS). A range-topping 550 PS R-S track monster is also on the cards, as spied here before.
Its sleek roofline will reflect that on the Jaguar C-X16 Concept from the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011, which in turn previewed the production F-Type Convertible that was unveiled a year later. The modern E-Type is coming full circle in just a few weeks’ time. Look out for our live coverage of the Tokyo Motor Show soon.

This is Jaguar’s answer to the Porsche 911 Carrera S, Porsche 911 GT3 & Porsche 911 Turbo GT2! Can’t wait to see the comparo test!
The F-Type is actually more a grand tourer than a sports car. Its heavier and not as focussed as the 911 GT3 but perhaps is the most desirable and complete Jaguar on sale today.
Maybe you forgot to read, “The British automaker says that the fixed-head F-Type will be “the most dynamically capable, performance-focused, production Jaguar ever.”
Actually the Jaguar XK is Jaguar’s grand touring model , although it is already long overdue for replacement..
