Ah yes, “discover the new style of a vehicle with both the environmental performance and exceptional ground-covering ability to let you enjoy pleasant drives, both in the city and when heading off-road.” That’s the descriptive plug for the Suzuki X-Lander hybrid concept, yet another of the automaker’s Tokyo debutants.
The boys from Hamamatsu say that the design study is based on the Jimny, but it’s nothing like the JB43 looks-wise, for sure. The X-Lander (or Cross-Lander, if you will) is similar in size to the Crosshiker, at 3,600 mm long, 1.695 mm wide and 1,700 mm tall, just scoped differently.
The 4WD offering is powered by a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1,242 cc four-cylinder Dual-Jet engine and a single electric motor, mated to an automatically-controlled manual transmission.
The interior features the use of waterproof materials throughout the cabin, with sports seats that are built to withstand rough use. Door cutouts mean you won’t be sloshing about in the X-Lander if you’re going through an extended downpour.
Three cameras mounted in front and sides of the vehicle display current road conditions at tyre level through a triple panel floating instrument display to help expand the driver’s field of vision. There’s also a night mode with this one, as well as a recording function, so you can catch all the action as you chug along.

There is sense of awesomeness overall. But the butt has to be redesign though.
