SPYSHOTS: Next-gen Mitsubishi Triton sighted on test

l200-spyshot

The next-generation models for both the Mitsubishi Triton and the Nissan Navara will be based on the same platform, as part of the working collaboration between Mitsubishi and Nissan that was recently expanded to include other models like C- and D-segment sedans.

Essentially, the new Triton and Navara will be non-identical twins, which is the way many pick-up trucks are done now – the Ford Ranger T6/Mazda BT-50 and the Chevy Colorado/Isuzu D-Max are examples. Even the current-generation Navara is already being built at the same plant as the Triton in Thailand.

These shots of the next-generation Triton being tested in Southern Europe were snapped by our European spy photographers with a long zoom lens from about two km away, so forgive the low resolution. Although the Triton will share a platform with the Navara, it will be tested separately and will look different.

Since the Triton has been around since 2005 and the Navara since 2004, a replacement could come about perhaps in 2014 or 2015. Pick-up trucks have relatively long lifespans compared to regular cars though, so it’s a little hard to guess the debut date of this one.

Even big Japanese Mitsubishi and Nissan need working collaboration which was recently expanded to include other models like C-segment and D-segment sedans. Potong still sleeping dreaming who they are, they’re dreaming they can do everything themselve. Yes they can only do so called FL,SV, and apa lagi..V. Potong wants collabration only with one condition, 99% bumi share – 1% foreigner, and CEO duduk buta must be bumi, langit cannot. Baik potong tutup kedai jual aiskrim potong.

Next generation of Triton will be launched in August 2014 and they use the difference platform with NISSAN since their sourcing is different.
