The W222 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been sighted again in Malaysia. The same grey S400 Hybrid that we saw last month was snapped by reader Mohammad Aiman yesterday on a transporter on the Elite highway.
We haven’t heard of any W222 S-Class preview in Malaysia yet, though it seems to be being transported around often. It hasn’t been sighted at JPJ Putrajaya either, and Mercedes-Benz didn’t have a stand at KLIMS13. We wonder if the car was showcased at the recent Mercedes-Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Week at White Box Publika.
The S400 Hybrid is powered by a 306 hp/370 Nm 3.5 litre V6 CGI engine that you will usually find in the S350 CGI, but in the S400 Hybrid it is mated to a 27 hp/250 Nm electric motor, integrated in the space between the engine and the 7G-Tronic Plus gearbox.
Combined fuel consumption for the S400 Hybrid is rated at just 6.3 litres per 100 km, compared to the larger V8-engined S500’s 8.6 litres per 100 km. Shouldn’t be long now.

Not much of a savings…calculate breakeven point: whats the price for 2L of petrol & price difference between a hybrid vs normal Merc S400?
Before the owner breakeven, may have change car already!
Junk car. Look like old elantra.
Soon some corporate fat cats can even save some taxes/duties on their S-Classes under the EEV incentives? (assuming this hybrid S400 can qualify under the scheme)…
is this car already launched in malaysia?, i saw one s500 last week in klang with kl registration number
“It hasn’t been sighted at jpj Putrajaya either” – but i saw this car at jpj Putrajaya two days ago…..
seriously standard 8.6l per 100km(11.5km/l)…means more afficient thant my wira lol..8.5km/l
