SPYSHOTS: Mercedes-Benz M-Class facelift sighted

Mercedes-ML-facelift-2

The W166 Mercedes-Benz M-Class was just launched in Malaysia last year, but Mercedes-Benz is already preparing the SUV’s mid-life facelift. It’s also expected to be joined by an X6-fighting ‘MLC’ too, but that’s a story for another day.

Based on these spyshots, the new M-Class (also known as the ML) will get a revised front end with a new grille and bumper. Since the headlamps are taped up we can assume there are some minor changes to the headlamp graphics as well.

This shot of the interior that our spy photographer managed to snap shows something interesting – it looks as though Mercedes-Benz will be moving the COMAND display from the current integrated look to the new ‘tablet stuck on the dashboard’ look Mercedes-Benz have been using in all their new cars. The COMAND controller will likely be updated to have the new touchpad feature as well.

The M-Class is only available as the ML 350 4MATIC variant in Malaysia. Read our test drive review of the Mercedes-Benz ML 350.

This SUV is a rare species in Malaysia, even Ah Pek also don’t to buy this SUV. Malaysian prefer Porsche Cayenne and Q7.

The ML and X5 are crazily prices. In the US, it is below USD$49,000. So your car is really worth in metal only RM150,000.

But here it is RM600,000. So, RM450,000 goes into thin air. If you work hard for your money, I don’t think so you will pay RM450,000 extra to someone for free.

Anyway, if tax and excise max out at 130%, how can this car be sold for RM600,000?

Shouldn’t it be COMAND display instead of iDrive Display?

I think COMAND is a Merc trade mark. iDrive is a BMW trade mark.
