Next month’s North American International Auto Show will see the second of the three concept vehicles Volvo is presenting as a means to showcase its Scalable Product Architecture – the Volvo Concept XC Coupe follows on the stunning Concept Coupe that debuted in September.
The Concept Coupe represented the world’s first insight into the automaker’s new design direction under Thomas Ingenlath, its senior VP of design, but for this one the approach isn’t just on styling – the company says that the Concept XC Coupe will provide a take on how its renowned safety tech as well as a contemporary Scandinavian active lifestyle can be integrated into the new architecture.
We’ll know more about the Concept XC Coupe ahead of its debut in Detroit – Volvo will be presenting full details and images of the design study on January 8. In the meantime, a short video clip and the three images you see here are the teasers.
