In line with its commitment to help improve health and safety in the local community, Goodyear Malaysia‘s latest contribution of Durasport and G-28 model tyres will be fitted to St John Ambulance of Malaysia‘s Toyota Hiace ambulances.
This year marks the eighth consecutive year of Goodyear Malaysia’s sponsorship of St John Ambulance of Malaysia, one of the oldest non-governmental organisations in the country, having been established in 1908.
“At Goodyear Malaysia, we believe in the work and service that is tirelessly provided by St John Ambulance and are honoured to be able to assist in the best way we can – providing our world-class tyres for their emergency vehicles,” said Goodyear Malaysia MD Ivy Peng.
Goodyear Malaysia’s philanthropic programmes are focussed on helping to meet the civic, economic and educational growth of organisations in need, as well as improving social and physical community health and safety.
“We truly value Goodyear’s support over the years, as it has enabled us to function more safely and effectively with our first aid response,” said Datuk Yeo Kim Thong from St John Ambulance Malaysia – State of Selangor. “It is indeed an honour to have corporations like Goodyear recognise our service to the community and support us financially and morally.”
St John Ambulance of Malaysia now carries out community projects such as mass Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training, Citizen Action and Response in Emergencies (CARE), in addition to rendering first aid and home nursing services.
Through volunteer services and the assistance of individuals and corporations such as Goodyear, St John Ambulance of Malaysia is able to advance towards its vision of being a well-organised body dedicated to the service of mankind.
Other organisations Goodyear Malaysia has supported include the Spastic Children’s Association, the Malaysian Association for the Blind, the Independent Living and Training Centre, the National Kidney Foundation and Mercy Malaysia.
