The term hotly-awaited gets thrown about a lot in the carniverse, but it’s at its most accurate when levelled at the upcoming Honda Vezel. The promise of Honda’s brand image, chunky SUV looks, CR-V-like practicality and Jazz-like packaging masterclass is a great one. Here, Mugen tries to add a bit of spice to the hotly-awaited model.
Honda’s official tuning subsidiary has just released photos of its aftermarket goods for the baby crossover. The path taken is an acquired one, that’s for sure, but it does offer an interesting styling proposition for the neat-looking soft-roader.
The entire front grille assembly is bespoke, similar in fashion to Mugen’s existing catalogue for the new Honda Jazz. The greyed-out front apron, meanwhile, draws direct inspiration from the fantabulous CR-Z Mugen RZ special. How it all gels together is a different matter, and is for you to decide.
Other Mugen additions include matching side skirts, rear bumper extension and contrast-painted roof spoiler. The customary badges and large 18-inch wheels are present too, of course, as are a selection of sports suspension, exhaust pipes, brakes and interior trim. When the Vezel does arrive here, let’s hope Honda Malaysia offers the Mugen parts for it too, like it does with the Civic.
