Ford has announced plans to launch eight Quick Lane service centres in Malaysia within the coming year, in collaboration with Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC).
Quick Lane facilities are equipped to handle routine vehicle maintenance and minor-repair needs quickly – including oil and filter changes, brake systems, tyres, minor exhaust system rectifications, tune-ups and alignments.
Each facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology, dedicated service bays, staff members, Ford-trained technicians and a customer waiting area with a view of the service bays. Customers are not required to make appointments.
The Quick Lane service centres in Malaysia will be located either within or adjacent to an existing Ford dealership. They will also be built in off-site locations to give customers easier access to these services.
The new facilities are part of Ford’s ongoing network development plan in Malaysia, which includes increasing the number of Ford showrooms to over 50 locations nationwide in 2014. Since the 2010 launch of the sixth-gen Ford Fiesta, the company has nearly tripled its market share in the country.
The Quick Lane service centres will support old and new Ford models, and at select outlets, even other makes and models.
Ford will provide end-to-end support to dealers who launch Quick Lane facilities. This support includes facility set-up assistance, infrastructure and technology, on-site training, launch support as well as advertising and marketing.
“The launch of Quick Lane will help us to better serve and service our fast growing number of Ford customers in Malaysia with a customer experience and aftersales service that is every bit as world-class as our global Ford vehicles,” said Ford’s Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets MD David Westerman.
Quick Lane centres began in the US in 1998 and are expanding to Asia Pacific to cater to the increasing demands of the fast-growing global after-sales market. In the States, they have helped cut the average time for standard maintenance service visits from over an hour to under 30 minutes.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Meh…Toyota is always the best in after sales service, no fight from others. Ford owners here do not worry the minor maintenance. Their main concern is the parts availability, they need to wait for months just to source the parts, and they are extremely as expensive as those German’s premium cars. That’s ridiculous isn’t it?
hello I want quick line
ok sir come back at 5 to collect
hah why ?
sir everyone want quick line, today got 50 cars
normal service how long?
today 5pm can collect
Malaysia can!!
Very basic maintenance services. Those with car repair knowledge or mechanic can DIY (except tune-up, which requires special console to diagnose), at least can save labour cost.
I think this kind of service would suit most of the population well. Don’t just consider saving on labour cost. Think of the time, equipment, clean up, that the owner gets to save as well.
No more warranty when you DIY…
No body cares about warranty after the vehicles have been sent to service centres over 3 times, unless the car owners willing to pay more for trusting service centres’ workmanship.
If you live in Kuantan, most service centres’ waiting room are no more than a sofa.
Merc Naza Jalan Beserah only sofa by the shoplot
Nissan Tan Chong Jalan Beserah-sofa, aircond room with astro
Ford – just chairs like Mamak restaurant
Honhin Honda-TV, basic coffee maker, sofa, aircobd but very small room.
Macinda Auto Honda- 2nd best, large aircond room, sofas, computer workstations with internet, small indoor playground, large screen astro, extensive coffee maker, free shuttle bus to town and mosque on Friday noon
UMW Toyota – the best, very large area, large screen Astro, plenty seating area, sofas, seats, restaurant style seat with table, computer with internet, extensive coffee maker, sometimes food or even free satay ( I experienced once) at noon
Does that makes Kuantan a Toyota fan filled city then?
Do the basic first, open more sercive centres as opposed to add fancy service at existing limited service centres.
Well, this should help reduce queues. But I wonder if the mechanics are trained to find upcoming problems as part of the servicing so they can be fixed before they get serious and more expensive.
quite interesting “The Quick Lane service centres will support old and new Ford models, and at select outlets, even other makes and models.”
not just ford….
hope, walk-in is always available, no need make any appointment.
Typical Sime Darby modus operandi.—- Sapu everything and end up swallowing too much than what they can chew. Then everything that start out as semua BOLEH becomes tak BOLEH ?!
Who had just gave up Alfa to DRB Hicom ?
Hope the service will not be disappointing like the main Ford HQ at PJ.
Luckily i went to capital trade ford service centre which share space with VW showroom+service centre. Their service is more acceptable.
I just took over a ownership of a brand New Ford Ranger. i am a 1 st. time owner of a 4 x 4, so a lots of things is new to me. Within 3 days of use, i notice the 2 cigar sockets is not functioning. Don’t no where is the service center for my Ranger, can any1, tell me the actual location of a Ford service center in PJ. And, after reading the Owner manual , i found out a lots of function the Ranger has, but was not inform by the salesman or not install into the Ranger by the company.
