Kia GT4 Stinger concept for Detroit – 315 hp, RWD

kia-gt4-stinger-concept-teaser

Here’s a Detroit-bound concept to get your pulse racing. We showed you the first teaser image last month; now we have a name, a frontal shot and some tech details.

Rather promisingly called the Kia GT4 Stinger, the 2+2 will be powered by a 2.0 litre turbo engine that feeds 315 hp to the rear wheels.

Penned at Kia’s American Design Centre in California, the GT4 Stinger concept sports the latest iteration of the ‘Tiger Nose’ grille. Sitting only inches off the ground, the grille’s surround glows white and is flanked by vertical LED headlamps.

Also on are cooling vents for the front brakes, 20-inch wheels and a carbon-fibre front splitter. Suffice to say, January 13 can’t come sooner for us.

Ignorant fools. Car designs now are heavily dictated by rules and regulations that oversee a car’s outer appearance. This is why many cars look the same, albeit having no affiliations to the other marques whatsoever. Read before you bash.

    • LED DRL does boost a car presentibility. I mean when a car comes down the road, their LED DRL are the first thing that attracts their attention and the Korean cars are good at this, Attention-grabbing.
However, I guess this is a Asean thing as in Korea, KDM cars don’t have LED DRL , the K3(Cerato), K1(Picanto), K5(Optima), Sorento and Sonata don’t have LED DRL standard like we get. here. There are some K5 with LED DRLs, but the not the rest.

In real terms the car dont feel like 315hp at all…Sorry Kia.Yes theyre great in design and generous in giving gadgets but their engine need more refinement to be on par with Japanese and Europeans. My wife 2 years old Kia Coup 2.0 already engine feel strained even when using Torco SR5 fully syn oil and platinum plugs.Have a hard time overtaking Civic 1.8 on high speed

  • What do guys think if Proton try to produce a sport car concept that might be in the same class with megane, golf gti, honda civic type r, GT86 etc.

Currently, Proton can only be proud with its satria neo for sport car. However, this car still lacks in power and can’t be compare with the above car.

Yes, of course the expected price will be higher ;)

U people know how to bash only. When the rest of automakers likes Mercedes, Toyota, Honda and the rest install DRL in their headlamp (imitating Audi), none complaining. Just because it’s a Korean or Malaysia brand, bash it like there is no tomorrow. Hello, it’s a concept car. read it CONCEPT CAR.
