Toyota Harrier G Sports concept unveiled in Tokyo

Seemingly not content with the Harrier Modellista and Harrier TRD Sportivo concepts, Toyota has shown the Harrier G Sports concept, only a couple of months after the reveal of the 2014 Toyota Harrier.

Based on the 151 hp/193 Nm 2.0 AWD CVT variant, the Toyota Harrier G Sports concept sports a sort-of spindle-shaped face (no prizes for guessing its inspiration) brought about by a custom front bumper and grille (two-tone too, no less). Sporty decals can be seen just aft of its slit-eyes.

It’s not just about the looks – there’s lowered sports suspension and a reinforced chassis courtesy of extra spot welding and bracing. Those striking 19-inch five twin-spoke alloys hide upgraded brakes, too.

We have no interior pictures, but Toyota says there’s suede upholstery, carbon fibre-look elements, alloy pedals, a sports steering wheel and a red engine start button. Learn more about the 2014 Toyota Harrier here.

  • Seat started this very aggressive ‘Bocanegra'[Literally meaning Black Mouth] design with their Seat Ibiza Bocanegra and very little manufacturer have follow suit and for good reason; designing the entire front black in contrast with the rest of the car can very easily ruin the look but This and the Seat proves that when done right, it could look absolutely epic.

Toyota’s design have gotten really aggressive lately, but as with this 151hp/193Nm proves, it really needs the power train to go with most of the look. Really love the rear.

Somehow this look outdated to me. I felt the new Santa Fe does have a better design compared to this even with a lower RV. Still its a more rocking car.
