Now that the Kia Optima K5 facelift has been launched in Malaysia, Naza Kia can work on the next models coming up its pipeline, which should include this Kia Sportage facelift that our regular contributor Anol Alias sighted at JPJ Putrajaya last week.
The Kia Sportage facelift gets an updated front grille, a new foglamp design, revised tail lamps, as well as a new design for the alloy wheels. The changes are relatively subtle compared to the Optima facelift which completely revised the shape of the tail lamps. We see an AWD badge so it looks like the Sportage’s all-wheel-drive function has been retained for the facelift.
The interior has been revised as well, now featuring a dual binnacle design from the instrument cluster, while the pre-facelift had a triple meter design. The new meter panel has a full colour multi-info display, as opposed to the original car’s monochrome with red backlighting.
Since the Kia Sportage SL was launched in mid 2011, it would be a good time for a mid-life facelift to be launched right about now. By mid this year, it would have been around in Malaysia for three years.

Well it would be interesting to see how it would be priced especially after the ANNOUNCEMENT of the NAP tomorrow. Cant wait. Hopefully it would be good news for all of us especially to those who is looking to buy a new ride in the near future.
All the best to us. LOL

KIA always shows their great design.. but still bad in fuel consumption.. :(
Good look from outside but cramp at the back seat.
Not a good family SUV.

It looks nice alright. But just like the first time I saw this car back in 2011, it’s the tire rim that attract me.
very nice inside and outside. long brake light at bumper looks great.
Looks almost the same as the outgoing model to me. 90% similar..
another korean junk polluting our roads
