Datsun has released a teaser illustration of a concept car it’s bringing to next month’s Delhi Auto Expo. Details are scarce at the moment, but from looking at the image, the concept could either point towards a sportier variant of the Datsun GO, a sub-Datsun GO model or a mini-crossover.
Reports indicate the concept car, code-named I2, could be underpinned by Renault-Nissan’s Common Module Family (CMF) architecture, which is at present employed by the third-gen Nissan X-Trail and second-gen Nissan Qashqai. CMF is modular and flexible – it can be modified to yield platforms of many sizes.
Reborn Datsun currently has the GO hatch and GO+ MPV in its stable – both share a platform that’s sourced from the Nissan March/Micra.
