Here’s an unusual move. Suzuki Malaysia Automobile (SMA) has slashed prices of the Suzuki Jimny 4X4, which was launched here in November 2013. The reduction is RM3,400 from the launch price.
With the downward revision, the CBU from Japan 1.3 litre Jimny is now priced from RM81,488 for the manual and RM86,488 for the automatic. In Sabah, prices are RM85,488 and RM90,488, while in Sarawak, the Jimny goes for RM86,488 and RM91,488. Prices are on-the-road excluding insurance.
“In light of recent hikes in the cost of living, we’ve decided to revise the pricing of the Jimny as a gesture to our customers. In situations like these, ‘every little saving helps’ and we hope that this will somewhat ease the financial strain on new car buyers,” explained Keiichi Suzuki, MD of SMA.
On another note, SMA revealed that the Suzuki Swift Sport will soon come with cruise control, and the spec update will happen before the second quarter of this year. Read our SSS launch report, which has a huge live gallery of this enthusiast’s favourite.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Wow its so much cheaper now!! Said no one ever.
That’s a 4% reduction in 1 year. Janji ditepati.
I now there are some hard core 4×4 people out that, but would they really pay 81K for this which looks like Suzuki has design and manufactured the car in the earl 80s and left it in some warehouse until they found this batch of vehicles again. The whole design exterior and interior is so old, I mean even if they were to sell it at 10k, I will think twice before buying it. What is Suzuki thinking about Malaysia people and the market !!
kah kah kah. got no buyers la tu.. bapak mahal.. suzuki harap kat swift je la
They would. You dont have to tell us behalf on them. They have engineer and team. They are not stupid in design.
Cannot sell or helping customer?
cannot sell lah. what else? how many jimny u see on the road? not even one. at that stupid price point, suzuki’s marketing must be drunk with sake.
the only thing i like on this post are the chicks. super cun, orgasmic faces, full breasts and just the right amount of flesh at the right places. *jerking off now.
It’s not Suzuki’s fault nor any other car manufaturer’s fault. We got almost 200% tax for vehicles and plus the miti or whatever they called it won’t price vehicles below Proton’s price range. Even it is RM35k would definitely become RM75k when it comes to Malaysian market.
Who want to be this crap outdated 4×4 car? Yucks! A lot more other 80k++ over there..
bagi kurang Rm13 400 pun olang tarak mau beli laa
All praise the government!
who want to buy this car? At that price, we have plenty other options. 80k for such a basic car? Lol.
Suzuki now also sudah pandai main wayang kulit…belajar dari DRB kah
Sales not doing well and now reduce price.
WOw..Finally someone who listen? I think it is actually the gradual reduction of import duty from Japan-Malaysia FTA till 2016 though. Clever word. Should become one of the consultants hired in near future…
hahaha, wait for end of this year clearance sales -discount extra RM20,000.
Seriously? almost 90K buy this thing?!! omg….
Probably it isn’t selling?
Suzuki should reduce price more since the current price is a bit steep.
looks the price is almost same as the pickup truck, or higher than some model.
It’s not a common car.
Meant for niche market, and the price is quite right to me.
CBU japan guaranteed Durability and Quality.
– Meant for Modification.
– Off Road King.
– High flexibility, Short wheelbase at 2250mm.
– dont see it 1.3L under power.
@ below 700kg. 1.3L provide a very high Torque to weigh ratio. Eqv to 200Nm Engine with 1500kg car.
– Design simple, reducing body weight for best off road perfomance.
2WD to 4WD @ up to 100km/h. Off road Enthusiastic sure love it.
Niche Market — Most people will find it not worth.
but off roader people will find the price is right.
Oh hi, how’s sales? Suzuki commission good or not? XD
It’s Suzuki Passion to provide such car to Off-Roader.
Did Suzuki focus on sales for this vehicle?
Hopefully there will be no one asking the rakyat to praise the gov because of harga turun this time!!
Hahaha, lie…..
Cannot sell at all, hence got to reduce price.
Nothing to do with cost of living type of nonsense.
Next time use a better excuse.
the SMA MD should be our PM!..haha
Alamak! Back to “Future” ar ?
Pack and ship back to Japan!
RM45K for the car + RM45k for Kangkung PM = RM90K.
Who the hell wants to buy this piece of outdated crap ? This Jimny was first made in 1998 ! That’s like 16 years ago !
I thought the Vios was the King of outdated-ness. The Jimny is on a whole different level ! hahaha
errr suzuki following UMW now? launching stone age cars.
well at least we get to enjoy the chicks.
The RM3K+ is still very high price compare to other 4X4. Hilux, Ranger, Dmax u name it and would prefer to go for those that this little Jim. Even is it JPN CBU but the current price offer won’t impact Jim admirer at all. Saw Suzuki salesperson struggle to get the buyers’ attention. worst than Madza huhu. DRB sincere enough the little tiny Jim should place @ 70K-75K at least. The other corner Alza is getting a lower price for its segment y don’t little Jim get better price cut off if u all wan to see it on the road again. Possible n don’t be greedy DRB N Kangkung Govt!
Give free also i malu to drive this car.. 3k discount?? Forget it la
Last time my dad own a new manual SJ413 LWB. At that time, Rm47,500.00. Long time ago… Now only kept his pre-historic SWB LJ800cc without doors and open top!
That time, first generation Swift(looks sportier than Charade Aura) even cheaper too..
better buy 2nd hand pajero….
This car is pricey, thanks to hefty government tax structure, just because it has a shape of a SUV.
To me it should be between RM65k to RM70k price range.
And to those who says this car is outdated, not from an offroaders eyes. It is a very capable car, (front live axles), may be even better than a pickup truck. Its just the tax causing the price to be not attractive.
boriiiiing. next.
Lebih hebat dr Pickup truck… Betul kah ckp kau tu?, wild trak ranger boleh tarik 3 ton muat.. apa kebolehan jimmy ni selain mudah sedikit parking? Tolak dlm sungai je…
Short wheelbased.
Superlight body..
Adequate tourqe
Tu selling point dia..
Short wheelbased maksud nya bila masuk hutan lagi senang nak bawak. Masuk dlm lopak.. mucung/ekor tak sangkut. Menyelit2 celah pokok lagi mudah… etc..
Yes.. harga dia mahal..
Tapi dia ultimate offroader. Top speed 130 je.. kancil 660 4 speed pun bleh tapau. But thats different story lerr..
Ranger Hilux Triton may be powerful.
But their limit is flexibility. Short Wheelbase, Short Car, yet light car.
Change the tyre, with high torque to weight ratio, this Car can tapau Pickup Truck in the jungle with the high ease of crossing.
If only it priced RM50K – RM60K, it will sell like hot cake in interior of Sabah. This Jimny will be a workhorse for them to traverse the off road of Sabah. But for RM80K – RM90+K.. Its not gonna sell. better buy a Hilux, Mazda BT50 or any other 4X4 truck for that price.
ALL I CAN SEE IS A HOT CHICK IN WHITE SINGLET. HEHE
It should be priced at RM 35,000 – RM 40,000… This one is heavily overpriced, thanks to Malaysian duty structure… This car is category as 4×4, not pickup (which exempted excise duty)… This CBU 4×4 have excise duty 65% + Import duty 30% + Sales Tax 10%… Thanks to Malaysian government due to high excise duty… People in Sabah and Sarawak will suffer more due to high excise duty…
Remember Perodua Nautica, although CBU from Japan but the pricing is not well becuase lost to 7-seater Rush… Jimny will suffer same fate as Nautica…
agree.
this jimny, along with pajero mini and nissan kix are not supposed to be priced higher than rm60k. due to the god-blessed tax structure, nissan and mitsubishi never want to risk. but suzuki is too brave and stupid…
Bla bla bla on those comments towards the Government and Proton. If high tax is not imposed on CBU then non of them would even bother to build or assemble their cars here and that will result in lesser job opportunities in a few related industries as well as manufacturing. One good example that I am aware of is there is a factory in Penang that supplies headlights for Mazda and I am sure Honda etc. does the same. So don’t look at it from only one angle. Yes cars in Malaysia is expensive but carpark, servicing cost and other related cost to owning a car are still much lesser compared to other countries. So plus minus is the same. I have lived in the US and Europe and some may say they earn a lot but bare in mind the standard of living is also very high to the extent many of them service their own cars and how many of us here would actually do it? We even send our cars for washing and that is like the simplest thing to do.
i wanna buy this suzuki jimny 1, suzuki sales person help me..,
offer me the best.. ;)
May I know where can i find this model if i want to buy it now? It’s best if it is a new car.Thank you.
