SsangYong XLV – B-segment SUV concept for Geneva

Korean brand SsangYong will unveil the SsangYong XLV concept at this year’s Geneva motor show in March. The XLV (eXciting smart Lifestyle Vehicle) is a “multi-role B-segment SUV” concept with a mild hybrid system. Under the hood is a 1.6 litre diesel engine supported by an electric motor, which is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack.

The XLV is a sequel to the XIV-1 concept SsangYong showed at Frankfurt 2011, but is 290 mm longer than the old showcar, which you can see here.

There’s plenty of trickery in the cabin. Despite being just 4,430 mm long (115 mm shorter than a Honda CR-V) with a 2,600 mm wheelbase, the XLV can seat seven in a 2+2+2+1 arrangement, where the seventh seat slides between the second and third rows for optimum flexibility. We don’t have a cabin pic for now, so you’ll have to wait for Geneva to see how the XLV’s unique interior layout works.

The SUV specialist’s recent concepts include the LIV-1 from Seoul 2013 and SIV-1 from Geneva 2013. SsangYong sells the Stavic MPV, Actyon Sports pick-up truck and Actyon SUV in Malaysia.

Hello Proton, even Ssangyong used to be fugly car maker now making changes and follow Kia Hyundai Mazda new modern design styles!

Spend billions for Lotus for nothing and still cannot get good design for Proton, how crazy is that?

Better hire Chris Bangle and his group of designers and teach Proton designers with that money instead!

Stupid Proton! If Geely or Great Wall from China offer Proton lelong price one Euro better take it lah.

The front and side looks like Volvo and BMW. while the rear looks like a KIA. But overall, still nice.
