Skoda VisionC – five-door coupe concept teased

skoda-visionc-sketch

Skoda has released a sketch of its latest concept car that it is bringing along to the Geneva Motor Show, the VisionC. Part of the brand’s determined push upmarket, the Skoda VisionC is an A5 Sportback-esque five-door coupe concept that previews the ‘next evolutionary step’ in the brand’s design language that is more ‘expressive, dynamic and emotional’.

The sketch shows a swooping roofline not unlike the Volkswagen CC, as well as sharp lines and features that are a staple on recent Skodas. The headlights are broad, tapering towards the centre and leading out into the grille in a manner similar to many of BMW’s newer models. Large wheels and a full-width air intake with integrated triangular fog lights complete the look.

No technical details have been released just yet, but it is expected that the production version of the Skoda VisionC will be based on the Octavia, and should slot above the Octavia in Skoda’s lineup. The concept will debut alongside the Octavia Scout at Geneva.

Doubt will see much of any Skoda models in Malaysia…definately so in Singapore!
    Don’t mind me saying.
This model sounds like going to use parts leftover from VW’s & Audi’s again…and it still don’t come cheap!

Leftover? No such thing as leftover parts, afaik VW does just in time production. They don’t keep stock, the suppliers need to be next to the factory and produce just in time. Skoda usually uses the latest VW/Audi parts, some high end features may be missing.

Push upmarket? Really? Last time Skoda did that they did the second gen Superb, and it was so good that VW fired the Skoda management… After that it was announced that Skoda would do a push downmarket, towards more affordable cars, and the Rapid came.

Skoda is not cheap anymore. The price of an Octavia is about the price of a Golf with similar specs, the only advantage is that the Octavia is a bit bigger.
