SPYSHOTS: MG CS SUV eyed winter testing in Sweden

MG CS 2

The production form of the MG CS is expected to premiere at Auto China 2014 in April, and has been caught on camera in Sweden undergoing winter testing ahead of its Beijing debut.

Last April, the vehicle was unveiled in Shanghai in its concept form, and despite the camo, the market version looks very much toned down from the OTT design study – there’s a more conventionally-shaped front bumper and sedate-looking rear end, for starters.

MG CS 6

Earlier reports speculated that two engine options for the CS will be available in its home market, these being 1.5 and 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol units, but a diesel has been ventured too, with European sales anticipated to begin in 2015.

The possibility of the MG CS making its way here eventually is very likely, that is if the planned comeback of the brand here takes place. Last April, it was reported that Federal Auto Holdings and SAIC, owner of the MG brand since 2007, had signed a MoU to explore the possibility of reintroducing MG in Malaysia.

Another SUV for offering. Looks like 2014 is the year for “The Rise Of The SUVs”. Get one near You. :-)

toned down in size and design from concept but the details are fairly accurate. i like how they maintain the 5-spoke flower rim design (15″ perhaps?) and split tail pipes.
