Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost set for April launch, Fiesta ST and EcoSport second half, Transit van next month

fiesta-ecoboost

Ford has announced that it will launch the Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost in Malaysia at the start of the second quarter. Seeing that Q2 2014 starts in April, the range-topping Fiesta should be just over a month or so away from launch.

The 125 PS/170 Nm Fiesta Ecoboost will be the range-topping facelifted Fiesta in Malaysia when it debuts, complementing the 1.5 Ti-VCT variant that was launched in September 2013. In the second half of this year, the Fiesta ST hot hatch, powered by a 182 PS/240 Nm 1.6 turbo, will take over the mantle as the top Fiesta in town. Both were previewed at KLIMS13.

Also confirmed to be coming in the second half of the year is the EcoSport compact SUV, but the first local Blue Oval launch of the year will be for the locally-assembled Transit van, which will debut next month. Read more about that one here.

Ford-EcoSport

New cars aside, Ford plans to further expand its dealership network to 50 locations and launch eight Quick Lane facilities by the end of 2014. Ford Quick Lane service centres are dedicated service operations equipped to handle routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs, quickly.

So, that’s five new Nissans, five new Hondas, four new Fords and one major national car confirmed for 2014 so far, with plenty more fresh metal on the cards. Looks like it’s going to be a wheely fun year ahead!

  • I really hope fiesta st is not priced as high as the price seen at klims. if it is, no sales seeing 208 gti can be low price for it’s performance

Exposing the washer nozzles is a dated design.
If you observed enough on most newer cars, the washer nozzles are hidden neatly out of sight.

It is good news the engine of the year going to launched implement in Malaysia. It suppose to be good move but I doubt it will selling well. Simply because there are many players in the same B-segment hatchback market like Fiesta.

The competition is very intense nowadays and there are many factors to be considered before deciding the purchase. Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost no doubt is very tempting with its technology and proven fuel consumption, but the price may anytime kill down a lot of potential buyers. Unless this can price below 85k. Otherwise people got an option for Rio, Swift, Jazz or sedan car like Almera, City or Vios.

Hopefully Auto Connexion will price the Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost wisely and boost the sales up.

If you wanna own a Ford, get ready to:
-learn everything abt your car and how to DIY everything
-learn how to pinpoint faults in your car

Your theory is not so correct, prices of basic food items have increased and will keep increasing, they will find it harder and harder to service their loans if they assume prices of all goods will be stable for the next 7-9 years or they will earn ‘High Income’ by 2020 as foreseen by TDM.

Does anyone have connection in Ford to know the price? if it’s price right I might go for 1.0 ecoboost. got a lot of goo review my motor enthusiast website and and blogs. Still got some drawback nonetheless. But hey, 1.0? I go tno complain, some more fuel economy should be phenomenal.

yeah spare parts is quite expensive, I own a Aprilia 125 last time. Just because it is made in Italy, even a 125cc bike cost me alot to repair. I men a lot…but hey, if you take care of it. At least it last longer. If it’s more expensive than Suprima? i might go for Suprima, considering I can repair at any workshop and SC is almost everywhere.
