Honda Civic SE Modulo and Mugen – RM118k-139k

Honda_Civic_SE_Mugen_and_Modulo

The Honda Civic SE (Special Edition) has popped up on Honda Malaysia’s website with two available flavours – Mugen and Modulo. What’s so special about it? Not much, really. It’s essentially two new variant ranges, packaging in either the Modulo full bodykit or Mugen aerokit packs at lower prices than before.

Purchased separately, the Modulo and Mugen packs would cost RM4,670 and RM7,600 respectively. Now, under the Civic SE package, the premiums have been reduced to just under RM1,800 and RM5,800 each. Prices of the cars themselves stay as before, but there are savings to be made if you fancy the official bodykits.

The Honda Civic SE Modulo variants are priced at RM117,790 (1.8S), RM133,790 (2.0S) and RM138,790 (2.0 Navi), while the sole Tafetta White-only Civic SE Mugen 2.0S retails for RM137,090. All prices are inclusive of insurance. As before, the Mugen pack does not include the alloy wheels pictured, and the door visors are sold separately.

  • The Modulo parts suits the Civic just fine, subtle visual upgrades, the Mugen without the actual performance parts is just dissapointing.

      Incorrect.

Any increase in horsepower would require an increase in either airflow/fuel into the engine. The correct statement should read:

Mugen designed bodykit will channel more air into the engine, bypassing the limiting air filter. This is Mugen Di-air-ect Technology – generating an additional 15hp for your powerful Honda Civic.

yes, only in Malaysia where look sporty is more important than actual sporty driving.

It is much better to use the money and buy a set of light weight rims. RM4000 can buy a very good performance rim that can improve a lot of the handling.

Its no use. How much make up also cannot save this ugly duckling. Mazda 3 or Elantra is the real looker.

what he meant is with that price, its much more reasonable if it were a DOHC engine… to be honest, i’m a tad bit dissapointed too because its not a DOHC engine.

    Hello Honda,

Please check your brochure…side and rear mixed up, very simple print-out and nothing complicated. Check again….designer and printer never update each other and just mass produce….gone your budget!

What’s the point? Putting tons of body kits into the awful FB Civic is not going to make it look any better. A fugly design will always be a fugly design.

And bodykits do nothing but to create more aero drag… and the danger of loosing the rear bumper kit when you try to reverse park into a lot with a really tall kerb LOL

Honda Malaysia made a mistake with this gen of civic. Its too expensive and the specs are too low. With all the complain coming in from US before this model was launched in Malaysia, Honda Malaysia should have up the specs level and keep the top spec model at <130k. It is currently priced too close to the base accord.
IMHO the face lift should upgrade the dash and interior materials to the US version with navi & 6 airbags standard across the whole range. Simple features like auto headlights should be cheap to implement across the range.
To improve the plain jane looks throw in modulo across the range and improve the front design. Redesign the rear and include LED tail lamps.
