The MINI Clubman Concept has broken cover ahead of its Geneva debut – rear barn doors still there, suicide ‘Club’ door no more. Measuring 4,223 mm long, 1,844 mm wide and 1,450 mm tall, the concept estate is 260 mm longer, 170 mm wider and 25 mm taller than the current R55 Clubman.
Noteworthy exterior elements include full-ring LED DRLs (half-rings on the F56 Hatch), two-tone 19-inch alloys, a twin-plexiglass roof, horizontal tail lamps and a split roof spoiler.
The MINI logo sits below the left tail lamp, and there are F56 Cooper S-style twin central tailpipes. Air Breathers and Air Curtains, too – you’ll have seen these on the BMW 4 Series. This is the first time they’re on a MINI.
Inside you’ll find five seats and “plenty of space for the pursuit of an active lifestyle.” Patinised silver accents and blue decorative strips are present amongst nubuck, patent and black soft nappa leather, plus tweed grey and black twill fabrics.
Of course, you wouldn’t expect things like the electrical door openers and snazzy cabin gadgetry to safely cross the production bridge, but this should be the shape of the next Clubman, more or less – see spyshots here.
The new third-gen MINI family is set to comprise three-door Hatch, five-door Hatch, Clubman, Countryman, Paceman, Cabriolet and maybe an MPV version that could be named the Spacebox or Traveller. No sign of Coupe or Roadster so far.

I’d stick with the Cooper S. The purest representation of the Mini IMHO. The rest are BMW micro-niching efforts.
Minibus…
Its still suicide to pay Rm250,000 for a toilet car. So the suicide factor is still there. A toy car for so much of money?
If I see one on the road, I’ll do whatever in my power to overtake or fall back waaaay behind it, because personally, I will not be fond following something with that bad ass….no really, thats a horrible read design [-personal opinion may differ-]. There are many good inspiraation for a small(but not mini)european hetch but a 2nd gen Chevy Impala is not one of them.
Beside that rear, i kinda like the rest of the design and espacially the interior, the designers did a great job in minimalising the interior(in concept form at least), freeing up space. The twin sunroof is a nice touch too, the only other car I remember with it is the awesome Citroën DS5.
awesome concept, with 19″ wheels looks better and balance for me. waiting for MPV version.
i actually think it looks more balanced than the 2 door version of the latest gen
its massive for a ‘mini’
the placement of the Mini badge at rear is rather awkward to me. the rear design needs some time to get used to as well.
So ugly, even Proton P2-30A Global Small Car looks nicer.
oh lord..the tail lights..
It’s an abomination.
