SPYSHOTS: Peugeot 3008 facelift sighted at JPJ

The Peugeot 3008 crossover is getting a little long in the tooth in Malaysia, having been introduced back in June 2010. But as Anol Alias’ JPJ spyshots reveal, it seems the facelift model is due to save the day.

The global-market Peugeot 3008 facelift surfaced last year at the Frankfurt show. As you can see, it eschews the previous gaping mouth for the neater corporate face seen on the 2008 and new 308, incorporating projector headlamps and chrome-surround fog lamps.

Head and tail lamps have been restyled, and those 17-inch ‘Aregia’ alloys are new. Interior changes are limited to new upholstery, new trim on the centre console and a flat-bottomed steering wheel with chromed inserts. We expect the 155 hp/240 Nm 1.6 litre THP unit and six-speed auto to soldier on.

At launch, the original Peugeot 3008 cost RM144k, OTR with insurance – the current price, according to Nasim’s 2014 pricelist, is RM147k. How much for this one, we wonder.

China gets its own facelift model, by the way. Built by Dongfeng-PSA, the China market specific facelift 3008 one has a different grille, headlamps, fog lamp housings and front apron, not to mention quite a bit of chrome and the addition of roof rails.

Revisit the past with our review of the pre-facelift Peugeot 3008 and our mega five-way SUV shootout, where we pitted the French crossover against its Far Eastern rivals.

Another price increase on the horizon I assume but crossing the 150k mark is a dangerous move in Malaysia…

    Jonathan,
Any news on 3008 diesel hybrid? Naza claimed last time that they are evaluating the possibility of bringing it to our shores.

Facelift for 3008 works much better rather than the 308. Maybe to me the org 3008 was the ugliest in the family. Lol

it should probably come with the same engine as the 408 turbo which has 163hp. that should make it a much better car if it does.
