The second-gen W246 Mercedes-Benz B-Class facelift has been caught again on camera by our European spy pixmen, this time undergoing winter testing.
Like the earlier set of roadgoing spyshots from last year, the cold weather testing examples are taped up in a similar fashion – the updated compact sports tourer will feature new headlights, a new front bumper and a slightly revised grille, as well as a new rear bumper and integrated exhaust tailpipes. The masked tail lamps, meanwhile, might hint at a reworked design.
Of more interest is the single interior snap that’s on call, or rather what the covered bits suggest – expect to see a new infotainment system and largish display screen like that seen on the W205 C-Class when the car debuts later this year. The centre console function switchgear layout should also feature a rework; likewise, the instrument panel.
The W246 B-Class, which premiered in Frankfurt back in 2011, made its Malaysian market debut in mid-2012 – it’s sold here in a solitary B 200 form. The B 200 is powered by a BlueDIRECT 1.6 litre turbocharged engine offering 156 hp and 250 Nm of torque, and the M270 is paired with a seven-speed 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission.
