Hyundai Sports Series – debuting in April, the Elantra Sport 1.6 and 1.8, Tucson Sport and i40 Sport

Plenty of activity on the Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) front right now – the company is launching the i30 hatch today, which you’ll read about in a short while. Then there’s this, an upcoming Sport Series range, previewed at the opening of the company’s latest 3S centre.

The Sports Series range will be made up of four variants, the Elantra Sport 1.6 and 1.8, Tucson Sport and i40 Sport. Set to enter the market next month, each SS version will feature a new bodykit and dress-up enhancements such as a new grille, sports wheels and LED DRLs, with a roof rack to be found on some models, presumably the i40 Sport.

More details on the Sports Series when the time comes, as well as pricing – HSDM also previewed a sported-up version of its new Grand Starex during the opening of its new 50,000 sq ft 3S centre in Sungai Petani.

The AutoLim Brothers outlet, Hyundai’s 24th 3S centre in the country, will serve 2,100 Hyundai customers in Sungai Petani, Gurun, Semeling, Merbok, Tanjung Dawai, Kuala Ketil, Baling and Bertam. The spanking new facility houses a showroom, five service bays, a well-equipped customer lounge and a spare parts centre.

60K++ you meant USD? RM 60K++ can’t even buy a high end Proton.
Slime Darby will not price any models cheaply.

How can they get away with labeling a car as ‘sports’ just by adding bodykit and some stickers?? And charge a premium for that.

  • When I hear sport series with just stupid bodykit by hyundai, it suddenly occurs to me it must be stupid kah motor virus infecting the sime darby management.

Remember how kah motor used to screw all the honda models here with stupid spec…stickers…massager and fake abs….now you see it with hyundai.

Somehow, I feel kia by naza is much better spec with no nonsense crap like this hyundai.

  • Any chances that Sime Darby going to bring in the facelift 2014 Elantra to Malaysia? I really interested and plan to order it.

I am in doubt with current elantra compare to K3 cerato, more prefer cerato. But if the new elantra coming to malaysia, I am definitely going for elantra. Fell in love with the head light and tail light design, engine performance is a bonus.

Hope that the 2.0 elantra in the range of 100-115K which closely price with Civic 1.8
