Puspakom to extend its Premier Mobile Inspection service coverage to five more states from April 1

Puspakom has announced that it will be increasing the coverage for its Premier Mobile Inspection Service (PMI) – the vehicle inspection service will be available for vehicle owners in Kedah, Kelantan, Pahang, Perak and Terengganu beginning April 1.

The extension of PMI for the five states follows on the programme’s success in the Klang Valley, Penang, Johor and Melaka – the programme began in 2008. The PMI covers the mandatory inspection points listed under the Road Transport Act 1987, with items such as the inspection of imported new/used vehicles as well as all second-hand, refurbished and modified vehicles.

Inspection will take 30 minutes, subject to the inspection process, with inspection reports released immediately. The fee charged is based on the type of examination, starting from RM20 up to RM50 for the inspection fees aside from the set service charge, which is RM100 for cars and RM50 for motorcycles.

Puspakom CEO Mohammed Shukor Ismail said that the service would help vehicle owners save time and avoid having to visit Puspakom centres. “We understand that many motorists may not have the time to do their inspection at the branch, so our PMI team will be able to travel to them at their location. All customers need to do is call the PMI toll free line at 1-800-222-210 to set up an appointment,” he said in a press statement. Alternatively, they can call the PMI branches in the respective states directly to arrange an inspection schedule.
