2014 Chevrolet Captiva makes its debut in Bangkok

The ASEAN-market Chevrolet Captiva has been given an update for 2014 – the refreshed SUV, which made its debut at the ongoing Bangkok Motor Show, features the updated styling cues and new tech bits as seen in the second facelift which premiered in Geneva last year.

Externally, the 2014 Captiva wears a redesigned front bumper with new fog-light covers as well as new rear lamp cluster and a reworked rear bumper with integrated and stylised chrome exhaust tips. Variant specific additions are integrated stainless steel side steps for the 2.0 diesel LTZ and new 18-inch alloy wheels for the LT as standard.

Inside, the Captiva gets a new upholstery pattern and now comes with full keyless entry and push-button ignition, courtesy of what the company calls a Passive Entry Passive Start (PEPS) system. Other fresh bits include a dual-zone climate control system and illumination for the steering wheel-mounted controls.

Choice of powertrains for Captiva remain as before – an E85-capable 2.4 litre petrol offfering 168 hp at 5,600 rpm and 229 Nm at 4,600 rpm and a 2.0 litre turbodiesel with 163 hp at 3,800 rpm and 360 Nm at 1,750 to 2,750 rpm for numbers.

Got difference from the previous one? doesn’t look like it. Such a boring car with low RV and high price.

Chevy need to restyle the interior to stay relevant, the steering wheel design is ugly

Hyundai Santa Fe wins this hands down in everything. I hardly see this Captiva on the road. It has failed to captivate our fellow Malaysian’s interest.

Sometimes I wonder if the car fail to sell due to design, price or the dealer that handles it. Hmm… Maybe all.

What was wrong with the 1st edition’s face? This one and the previous version is hideous that I won’t even talk about it to my wife, for fear of making her traumatized with the looks. Hire me as a creative director for this car and you will not go wrong. Sheesh.. Ugly..

even worse ( Chev trailblazer ) Hi everyone ,i was thinking about changing to Chevy TB . That is until i was lucky enought to drive some in differrent countries where i worked . total differrent driven are 7 in both automatic and manual all with the new 2.8 engine . So i can say no way will i now consider one at all , Reasons Engine is rough as a a bag of hammers and noisy as hell trim is so flimsy and falls of daily when driven on graded roads economy very poor around 11 ltrs / 100km ride is not anywhere near acceptable on black top or off road you feel every single surface imperfection the vehicles i drove ranged from 2000km to 18000km on the clock since new all were company vehicles and had been used by 8 or 10 differrent drivers and everyone
who drove them were of the same oppinion just total american/Thai made rubbish even the seats were starting to look like they had been in use for 10 or 12 hard years not one of the vehicles was anywhere near they quality or reliability of the other main stream competition in any way at all . Just cost cutting cheaply built badly assembled poor quality materials made with low quality untrained thai labour . And my god it really shows. No way will i remotely think about getting one as it realy is very poor in every way especially the ride engine noise and cabin interior noise it is just about very old basic farm tractor quality
