F15 BMW X5 to be launched in Malaysia next week

F15_BMW_X5_Malaysia_001

The third-generation BMW X5’s local launch is upon us, as confirmed by the BMW Fascination newsletter and launch invites (pictured above) sent out to selected BMW owners in Malaysia recently. We suppose it’s about time that the new F15 BMW X5 arrives, as the current E70 model has been with us since 2007.

Unveiled in May last year, the refreshed SUV gets an all new look inside and out, with various improvements in terms of interior space, comfort and efficiency. Check out this video detailing the evolution of the X5, from the car-like-SUV-pioneering first-generation E53 from 1999 to the latest F15 version.

Mirroring the outgoing model, two turbocharged 3.0 litre engine variants are expected to be launched here: the 306 PS/400 Nm petrol X5 xDrive35i and the 258 PS/560 Nm diesel X5 xDrive30d. You can read Paul’s comprehensive drive report of the latter and X5 xDrive50i for a more in-depth look at the upcoming model.

    • Najib, where is the 30% reduction Promised? on Mar 28, 2014 at 5:46 pm

This Car is USD52,800 (Rm150,000). When it comes to Malaysia, how it becomes RM580,000? Tax and excise duty maximum is 130%. Some more BMW Malaysia will get this car far more cheaper than USD52,800, maybe even at USD40,000

BMW Malaysia is the ONLY car company in the entire world (not Malaysia alone) that gives only 2 years warranty for their cars. They got no confidence in their own cars to give more than 2 years.

    • You can bring in M50d but the our diesel quality is not compatible with the M50d triple turno diesel engine. we need at least Euro 6 in order to drive this marvelous engine. Sadly, Malaysian will not have the chance.

2 years warranty is way too short for such an expensive car.Even my Merc with 3 years warranties previously is insufficient as many parts tend to breakdown after 3 years and these parts cost thousands. Nowadays, cars have many electronic features and with our hot and humid weather, these electronics give problems and can cause other parts to suffer and cost you unnecessasy monies after 2 years. Can understand if the pricing is same as in US or UK but not at this Msian pricing.
