2015 Chevrolet Cruze – US-market gets a facelift

2015 Chevrolet Cruze US Facelift-03

GM has announced the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze ahead of its debut at the upcoming 2014 New York International Auto Show. It’s a facelift with a grille that not all will agree to.

If you recall, we recently showed you spyshots of a new Cruze from China – that gaping mouth machine looks like a fresh design, while this is a facelift, so it could be that China gets a new Cruze while North America soldiers on with the J300, for now. It could also be a China-specific model. Which will we get?

Anyway, this Cruze facelift brings a prominent dual-port front fascia with cues from the Impala and (coming soon to Malaysia) Malibu, including LED daytime running lamps on LT and LTZ trims. Several new exterior and interior colours will also be offered.

Speaking of that, the cabin gets revised cupholders for ease of use and a relocated boot release (now on the centre console). Door lock switches move from the centre console to the front doors.

Greater connectivity comes from the new Text Message Alerts, Apple Siri integration and OnStar 4G LTE with available WiFi hotspot. GM says that the Cruze offers more standard safety features than any other car in its class, with 10 airbags and available side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, rear park assist and a rearview camera.

The 2015 Cruze lineup also includes Cruze Eco and Cruze Diesel, the latter claimed to be the most efficient non-hybrid passenger car in America. GM is aiming for the VW Jetta TDI, and says that the Chevy is 10% more efficient while delivering more horsepower (151 hp) and torque (358 Nm), than the European car.

Pity. Such a good car but in Malaysia, Chevrolet not selling well because of the cross logo. This is how mature our society is.
