Peugeot 3008 – facelifted crossover launched, RM154k

Peugeot 3008 launch

After some local sightings and a number of teasers on Facebook, Nasim has finally unveiled the facelifted Peugeot 3008 at Queensbay Mall this afternoon. The refreshed C-segment crossover carries a number of tweaks designed to sharpen the car’s looks as well as to bolster the driving experience.

First introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, the 3008 has been given a new face, which brings it in line with Peugeot’s latest design language. The new front apron features new fog light surrounds and a new grille bearing the “Peugeot” script.

The directional bi-xenon headlights with automatic levelling and LED daytime running lights now have a claw design like the 2008, while the tail lights now feature LED technology arranged in the company’s signature triple-claw design. New 17-inch “Aregia” diamond-cut alloy wheels complete the aesthetic changes.

Inside, the 3008 features darker upholstery, new trim on the centre console and a flat-bottomed steering wheel with silver inserts. Some new kit has also crept in, including a colour head-up display (HUD), a top-mounted retractable seven-inch LCD screen with navigation and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.

Also new is the Peugeot Park Assist with Available Space Management (ASM), which utilises the ten parking sensors front and rear and measures the size of the potential parking space, informing the driver of the feasibility of the manoeuvre. A rear-view camera now comes standard, whose image is displayed on the central display with markings to make parking easier still.

Under the bonnet sits a revised version of the familiar Prince 1.6 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, now producing 165 PS at 6,000 rpm (an increase of 9 PS over the outgoing model) and 240 Nm at 1,400-4,250 rpm. Mated to a six-speed automatic, it can go from 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 202 km/h. Average fuel consumption is rated at 7.7 litres per 100 km.

The rest of the specifications remain unchanged, so the 3008 still comes with six airbags, ESP and ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, among other features such as the panoramic glass roof with powered blinds and automatic headlights and wipers.

Nasim claims the new 3008 is pivotal to the brand’s 2014 sales target of 7,000 units. The car is one of a number of key launches for Peugeot this year, including the 2008 in January as well as the next-generation 308 later on in the year.

Pricing for the new Peugeot 3008 is RM153,888 on the road with insurance, an increase of exactly RM10,000 over the previous model. Two new colours are available – Rogue Red and Bourrasque Blue, joining the previously available colours of Pearl White, Aluminium and Nera Black. As with all Peugeots, the 3008 comes with a five-year, unlimited mileage warranty as well as a 24-hour Peugeot Assistance service.

peugeot do no put it in the steering. only the top models have that like the 508. their controls are usually on stalks just behind the wheel. pretty easy to use once you’ve seen it.

Yea and Camry owner will stay with their car much much longer than 3008’s.

        Simply because:
        1. It is reliable (problem free)
        2. Comfortable
        3. Cheap maintenance
        3. Good resale value
        4. Peugoet owners are the “smarter” one who keep on changing car??? lol

Sorry to say this, but Peugeot just like all other French cars are expensive to maintain. I had one previously, but was so disappointed with Naza’s service and cost of parts, Everything from batteries to brake pads to tyres cost more than other European cars. It just doesn’t make sense to buy this car for a cheaper price than other European cars but pay a lot more for service, parts and repairs compared to other European and Japanese makes. Sorry to say this, but those who buy this car because of looks alone, might be disappointed in the long run.

Yes,their parts are slight expensive! Japanese car parts are also not cheap. But,because they have the.volume and many dealers dare to stock. So it makes the competitive market able to lower parts’prices?

I am so agree to this. It happen to my 3008 1st batch model. No more warranty because exceed 3 years. Not a daily car and it reach 100k km on year 5. After all the service records done with their SC, the car now stalled because of gearbox problem and it cost me rm15k just to overhaul. I try to complaint to Nasim and they given me rm9k after discount. I am telling them to repair it for free since the services is all genuine and the gearbox should last for longer mileage. What I can tell is, peugeut car is not design for our weather. That is the reason of the faulty according to the foreman I met outside.

Before anyone complains about the RM10k increase, keep in mind that the upgrades are worth more than 10k (based on the UK price). Also in the UK they don’t get this revised engine. The most powerful petrol engine available there is the older THP 156 with a 6 speed manual.

That why I bought the 508 and I don’t mind paying more, you get to fiddle with songs, calls, display manipulation, ease of setting car parameters like lighting, view different driving info etc while keeping your hand on the steering all the time, but u have to master your manual though.

Peugeot like to keep the steering wheel clean.

The audio controls are behind the steering wheel, behind the spoke at 3 o’clock position, while the cruise control and speed limiter are on the left hidden behind the left spoke of the steering column.

They justified the price increase but it has to stop here. If the next gen 3008 arrives with a price sticker of RM160k then that’s too much. This price is about the max that one would pay for a crossover.

  • Had one of the pre-Fl ones for 14 months. Rattles everywhere. The first appeared in the first week of ownership. Rear suspension changed under warranty twice. Front end mounts changed. Whole moonroof blind assembly taken apart and rebuilt to stop rattles. Intermittent loss of power – cause? Coolant low warning came on; changed sensor. Battery changed at 9 months… Too worried to keep long term. Sold it off and went back to a Japanese car.

always interesting to read peugeot bashers here saying peugeot not selling well when i come across different models of peugeots every single day.

also, to that moron that says this is nothing compared to camry…all i can say is, go learn to read you dumbass. camry and 3008 are both different classes. you should compare camry with the peugeot 508, which , the 508 wins in almost all dept.

i am a current owner of the 508 and im loving it so far. would i buy the 3008? yes, since i am upgrading but not unless ford releases the new smax!

Excuse me xcarpathia, it is a fact. Peugeot cars are not selling well these days. Its because those who bought the cars in the initial stage now realize what crap service they are getting from Naza that they have spread the word around. Nowadays the cars only appeal to a select small crowd who does not care about cost of ownership, parts pricing and resale value, as these are the Peugeot’s weakness.

selling well is relative to what is targeted by the company. so there are 2 definitions. 1, the company can say it is selling well because it is within their sales and service targets but 2, the public like you may not think so just because you don’t see it everywhere like a plague and it does not sell as many as japanese brands… which is quite unrealistic to expect the brand to do so at this point in time. realistically, it IS doing alright.

Test drive cx5 and 3008 today at glenmarie. So this is my findings:

Engine – performance wise is 3008, but skyactiv is more responsive

Gearbox – skyactiv does have a gap time around 1-2 second when shifting using manual. I prefer 3008.

Practicality – 3008 got boxes and compartment everywhere. Three layer of bonnet (hard to explain, see for yourself, and you’ll amaze)

Sunroof – 3008 roof is all glass, they call it retractable blind. But you can’t let yourself out coz it’s a roof, not a window.

Interior design – 3008 steering is plain, but got auto cruise, radio control on separate sticks.

Price – almost the same, roadtax is cheap for 3008 rm120 while cx5 is rm430+

Service interval – both 10k. Peugeot dashboard can diagnose your car AND your tire pressure. I’m not sure for cx5 but Peugeot use timing chain instead of timing belt.

    Entertainment – i prefer cx5. Smarter.

Starter – cx5 push start and. 3008 is old school.

Design – 3008 is bulky but rear passenger doesn’t feel any bumpy when i ran over speed bump. Because suspension is multi link.

Last but not least – your wife gonna like 3008 over cx5. Too much compartment to store her bag and tupperware. And i mean it.

what u said was true! i test drive both since their showroom is next to each other. I have the similar experience and i’m on the wifey side.3008 will be more practical for family with younger child. they have internal access to get into the bonnet to reach for the milk storage or handbag. see for yourself. but i’m still in the midst of making decision to go for what make since i read a lot of comment from lowyat forum regarding peugeot sc and the problem that owner had encountered.

There are some people who keep their pets outside. There are many reason’s why this happens and some of them are the dog sheds, or the dog smells or any of the other bad habits that dog’s have. When the animal is living outside, it is a good idea to make sure that the pet has cover to protect them from the elements. A nice dog house can serve this purpose. There are many different types of dog houses that you can get. Visit our site for some ideas on them.

The word “flannel” comes from the Welish word “gwalnen” meaning woolen cloth. Flannel is a twill type of fabric that has been brushed to soften the outer layer. In men’s clothing flannel trousers are popular among older men. Although used, flannel is slightly less common in men’s jackets.

If you think about it, aren’t we all shallow in some way? Being selfish is a form of self preservation. We all want to make sure that we have clothes on our back and a nice comfortable home to live in. All humans have the same basic needs, however, is it wrong to have the desire to be comfortable. Is it wrong for a shallow gal to supply her basic needs while being comfortable and looking her best!

These coats come in many different types of materials. One of the most popular is the long leather coat worn by Keanu Reeves in the Matrix. Leather is a popular option although it will not be as protected from the rain as something that is cotton and polyester and made to be water proof. The leather one gives a person a more trendy street type of look compared to the cotton coats. The cotton ones look more conservative and you will be able to wear this to the office more easily burberry scarf sale than a leather one. Whatever your purpose, consider the type of style you are going for before choosing the material.

Create a diversion: Pick some plants that are favorites of deer burberry outlet uk and plant them away from the plants you don’t want them to eat. The idea is that the deer will just stay where the more delectable plants are. Try using dogwood, crabapple, viburnum, pyracanthus, burning bush, burberry or white cedar.

Wearing a special perfume always creates an impression. It makes you appear well-groomed. A perfume is interconnected to your sensuality and sexual appeal too. There is a fast attraction that takes place as soon as the smell of good perfume spreads. A good smelling person is always appreciated. To make the impression even better you can use specific brands. A Nina Ricci, Ralph Lauren or a Davidoff is easily recognized. The way you smell shows a lot about your style statement and even the lifestyle you follow.

Location, location, location. Centrally located several minutes from burberry outlet uk downtown, the beach and all three major San Diego universities, you couldn’t ask for a better location (unless you lived in North County, like me). The trolley also has a station there, making it easy to get where you need to go sans car.

Let’s remember that everything is relative. My shallow gal wants to feel confident and experience her level of happiness by wearing designer everything and non-shallow gals wants to feel happiness wearing non designer accoutrements. The common denominator is, we all just want to be happy!
