Scion revealed the FR-S Release Series 1.0 at the recent 2014 New York International Auto Show, drawing on the track heritage and expertise of Toyota Racing Development (TRD). A firm favourite of ours, the Toyota 86 is sold under Toyota’s sub-brand as the Scion FR-S in the US.
The Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 sports a custom-designed aero kit with a rear spoiler and side fender garnish. Additional highlights include the TRD quad-tip exhaust system, TRD lowering springs and Smart Key with push button start. The bright Yuzu exterior paint colour helps it stand out more.
Other add-ons include a TRD steering wheel and shift knob, black seats with T-pattern, HIDs with LED DRLs, dual-zone auto AC and a TRD mat for the boot. The Release Series 1.0 is a limited edition of 1,500 units, so each car will get a serial number inlayed on its brushed aluminum shifter surround plate.
Earlier this week, Toyota and Subaru announced model year 2015 dynamic upgrades for the 86 and BRZ – click here for the full story. Also read our review of the Toyota 86, which has appeared twice in our annual paultan.org Top Five cars list.

No turbo/supercharger?
Perodua, please rebadged!!!
No need to re-badge-lah. Proton/Lotus can design this kind of car and fight the Toyota.
Wow nice…. would prefer red over yellow though..

i think looks more awesome without the aero kit because the original was beautiful.
Asian kits are so over done, Five axis does a pretty smooth work I dont think it’ll work in the US
Why the quad tail? Its not even a 6 potter! So Ahbeng…
unlike the ‘vios trd’………..
86 too expensive here. Rebadge is needed. Quick.
