Nissan has inaugurated its second assembly plant in Indonesia. The opening of the 60,000 sq metre facility – which is located in Purwakarta, 80 km from Jakarta – will expand the brand’s production capacity in the country from 100,000 units annually to 250,000.
Built at a cost of 33 billion yen (RM1.05 billion), the Purwakata plant features a body assembly line, paint and trim shops as well as chassis operations, and will generate up to an additional 3,000 jobs in the region.
Initial production will be dedicated to assembling Datsun vehicles for Indonesian buyers, in this case the Datsun GO hatchback and GO+ MPV. Last year, it was reported that both models would begin selling in Indonesia this year, with prices starting below 100 million Rupiah (below RM29,000).
Nissan also confirmed the approval of its Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) programme license, issued by the Indonesian government, allowing the brand to join the burgeoning LCGC segment. The automaker said it expects to sell more than 90,000 units in the country in 2014, and added that it is planning to increase the number of sales outlets from 100 to 130 during the year.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Bravo Dr M…the father of Indonesian automotive industry…!!! Clap clap clap::::
Everything is now going to Indonesia and Thailand. Even the existing CKD in Malaysia will soon close shop and move to Indon. Japanese and Mat Salleh don’t like to give 30% of their company free and pay useless puppet directors money for not doing work.
ya ya ya..u correct. boleh is bad country. no other country more corrupt than boleh..boleh no.1 corrupt.
In simple, Fugly….
The pictured car got the face of Tun Lim Kit Siang.
Looks more like your mother to me..
There’s go another FDI.. thx to NAP.. good job.
Thats why most of indonesians working at malaysia originates from east java because dont have or limited job opportunities compared to west java. You can ask indonesian where they came from.
that’s right, west java have many plant and factory especially Karawang, Purwakarta and Cikarang.
I’m from Jakarta.
even if it comes to malaysia with a RM60k price tag, it will still be a good buy
Highest end of Datsun Go+ MPV is limited to 1200cc.
1.2L Datsun MPV RM60k. hmmm.. Facepalm.
Wheelbase Comparison:
5 Seater Perodua Alza: 2750mm.
Nissan Grand Livina: 2600mm.
Datsun Go+: 2450mm.
no wonder Datsu Go+ is so cheap at indonesia.
As long as its cheap and reliable, at a good price buyers would not care about the exterior.
have we seen enough of because of cronism (Protong is meant for part suppliers to earn big money instead of selling Protong car over seas to earn money for the company/country), Malaysia lost big time in earning money through export. Yes, export counts towards Malaysia economy (that is how Intel in Penang make Malaysia biggest export is electronics!). Enough of all those stupid people says Protong helps Malaysia. Its killing the country economics by increasing household debt in the first place. And Dr knows mostly blind supporter will says buatan Malaysia is good and proud, its good and proud if they HELPS the country and rakyat in the first place. It helps cronis without a doubt.
Very cheap car and basic, interior .. very not recommend, not electric power window (manual), seat is not comfortable. Just a very basic and lowest value car ever and ugly. Too much push on cheap price.
Wau!!!.. The car NOT selling yet and you can even know the seat is not comfortable? Bravo..
What happen to NAP EEV program?? No automaker give a damn?? Government what are you doing??
BAGUS, tahniah to Dr M stupid, because of you and all the BN parties, we malaysian can’t buy cheap japanese cars. Indonesian government is good, their rakyat can buy japanese cars at cheap price. Datsun will not enter malaysia because it will be expensive(due to stupid tax)and their philosophy as a people’s car will be vanished. In malaysia, the cheapest new car money can buy is our very own perodua Viva or proton Saga SV- which is more than Rm30k. I will pick Datsun anytime if it is Rm29k here in malaysia.
If it is rm29k in Malaysia, most probably some of us can buy it cash, don’t have to loan until 9 years(high car price in malaysia is because of the stupid BN tax, introduced by the dying dr M since proton was born in 1989). Or worst still just loan half of the car price.
proton always lament the high cost of doing business, no support from people n bla bla bla although they receive so much money and incentive from government. but why the other country can make it cheaper?
Indonesia will be ahead of Malaysia from now on.
Their salary scale in going up for local people. Their local senior Project Manager (building) can get RM 10K to 15K salary as compared to malaysia scale which is below RM 10K.
Indonesia are already far ahead of Malaysia since a few years back…
At least their government did sth…
Now even Vietnam and Myanmar are going 2 overtake Malaysia…
As long as you vote for bn cronysm be rich the ordinary people will suffer everything was expensive salary below taraf kemiskinan. Because of some stupid people many people susah .
3000 additional jobs? I guess Indonesia soon have to import buruh kasar from Malaysi
haha.. malaysi?
mau gaduh ka?
dey macha, it just bout bisnes. low cost, increase netprofit.
labor cost there so cheap. here g and opposition want to establish higher minimum salary. which 1 do u want? lower the salary lower the item price. or increase everythng.
u hebat sgt masuk la honda msia. let see how u perform. or just another bullshit keyboard warrior
beribu ribu takziah
