Jaguar uploaded a new teaser image for its upcoming baby Jaguar sedan to its Twitter account. The name Jaguar XE was confirmed for the new car in March this year, and at that point a shadowy image of the sedan’s front end was released as a teaser, along with two images of the XE’s new “iQ AI” platform.
This new teaser image shows a ‘skin-less’ Jaguar XE wrapped with body wrap, revealing the structure under the car’s sheet metal, such as the impact bars in the doors. Somehow the movie Hollow Man came to mind. You can see the overall shape of the car, but there are not much body details. But then again Jaguar’s design language doesn’t really call for complex surfaces anyway.
We’re expecting a similiar engine line-up to that found in the bigger Jaguar XF, with the entry level served by 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engines. However, instead of the current Ford sourced EcoBoost units installed in the XF, the XE will debut a new 2.0 litre turbo four cylinder from Jaguar Land Rover’s new Ingenium engine family.
We’re expecting a public unveil at this year’s 2014 Paris Motor Show.

Interestingly clever teaser image. Others show camo or shadows.. this one bares it all, yet difficult to figure out how it looks like.
Jaguar.. It’s good to be bad..
The most all these pretenders (c class, a4 included) can do is compatible to 3-Series but will never be a real 3- Series.
A very nice alternative for its class..if c-class and 3er are too mainstream for you, maybe a jag is rare enough, or you can just get infiniti Q50 or lexus IS.. :D
i agree with you… why join the mainstream when you can be unique and rare??
if this car has handling of 3 series, 240hp or more, priced at 230k or below. then would be a great seller
Looks good even though its not the complete car being shown. Should be WAY better looking and just a totally better car than the X Type.
Have been waiting so long….it’s time now for the British!!! Massive XE :-)
better price, better warranty….will kill the 3 series overnight. BMW only gives 2 years limited warranty in case u dont know. BMW themselves are scared oftheir own creation. Banyak Makan Wang
This may very well do quite decently.
While the old X type had some Mondeo stigma attached to it, the AWD versions were quite decent and good value, if you have to live with a bit of ice and snow.
When compared to a BMW, most of these entry level luxury cars have a problem, they are “cheaper” versions of Luxury cars, a problem BMW doesn’t have to deal with as their recent pedigree started with smaller, sporty cars instead of luxury.
Now with Jaguar trying to invent itself with The “good to be bad” add campaign which is nothing short of marketing brillance, they may have just the right mix of new powerstrain, sporting pretensions (from the new F Type) and new found quality to perhaps make a dent in the other marques. BMW wont be bothered though.
